Bangalore-based company Alpha Design Technologies has signed an order to supply 400 Software-Defined Radios (SDRs) manufactured locally, which will be installed in tanks operated by the Indian Army. This, according to a Times of India report.
The technology is based on developments by Elbit Systems, which were transferred to Alpha Design as part of a collaboration between the companies.
The Times of India quoted a senior Alpha Design official who said that "The Indian Army took a significant step by ordering 400 SDR systems for some of its tanks. We have already signed the contract, and the manufacturing is underway.”
