A number of T70 Blackhawk helicopters have been delivered to various units of TURKISH armed Forces. This includes deliveries to Land Forces and Gendarmerie.

One statement in above news piece is interesting that for the next 10 years to various departments of Armed a forces and other potential users some 109 helicopters will be delivered, having been manufactured in house by Tusas under license.

That brings to mind that the license agreement that was to be coming to an end shortly leaving some 70 or so helicopters not produced , may have been sorted out.

Finally some good helicopter news! Shame we couldn't produce more while we have the license though. Now, we just need to get the license to Augusta's naval helicopter and start producing that for our Navy until Gökbey, or, T925 is ready.

Finally an update on T625 production. Wonder what is the project length for these deliveries.

“ASELSAN received an order with a total value of 48,760,000 USD from TAI-Turkish Aerospace Industries for the supply of avionic equipment within the scope of the Unique Helicopter Project.“

How do we know that it is for Gökbey?
In the official statement is only written "Özgün Helikopter Projesi".
Every helicopter project from TAI is "Özgün Helikopter Projesi".
So i think that SavunmaSanayiST makes only an assumption.

My thinking is that no other single TAI helicopter project is in such a state to require 50 million dollars worth of avionics anytime soon but the T625 which should now be completing its tests with gendarme and getting ready for serial production.

Logic says it should be Gökbey, but it does not change the fact that it is only an assumption.
E.g. Aselsan signs contracts for navy projects years before production.

Conflicts around the world are heating up. There are other makers who want to grab market share, Turkish military are not the only customer.
Is there really a market out there for an Apache/Mi-28 weight class heavy attack helicopter that won’t be filled with Apaches or lower weight class helicopters like Zulu Cobra, Z-10 or the AW-249?

I don’t think TAI is developing all this for the export market.

Every product creates its own market, Italians see that. Buyers can choose from makers who are better aligned with them politically. New markets open up when economies evolve, African countries are in the market for bigger weapons. We can provide a better prize point than other makers. We maybe lacking engines for now but engine business is in the process of expansion too.
