For Italians, replacing their own A129s is the main goal with token European sales. African countries that need and can afford attack helicopters already do.Every product creates its own market, Italians see that. Buyers can choose from makers who are better aligned with them politically. New markets open up when economies evolve, African countries are in the market for bigger weapons. We can provide a better prize point than other makers. We maybe lacking engines for now but engine business is in the process of expansion too.
Being a 10+ ton attack helicopter, I do not see T929 being an export success. If T629 was around, that’s another point and can find customers more readily.
