I actually don't like that map. I really hope Azerbaycan has captured at least twice as much.

I think it's a very conservative map. I wish someone would post a screenshot of liveumap, it'll probably show similar.

I think the reason why we are not up-to-date in this conflict with the maps, is because the Azeri troops are not posting videos and making selfies every day with their progress (unlike previous conflicts we have been following). So the other day when we saw Irani Azeris recording troops from across the border, we got some reliable information as to how far the troops had progressed. Other than that, we are only likely to know which villages have been liberated, or where fighting is taking place, after the AzMOD has posted it.

At least we have some discipline in the ranks, even if it means that we are blind to the progress.

At the moment, the main issue is not the situation on the map, but the dividing of the armenian defense lines and the neutralization of the defense fortifications. The enemy's morale and motivational foundations on the field are gradually disappearing. It has probably been discussed before, but the Afrin operation can be tactically compared to the Karabakh operation. The first month progress was minimal and almost 70% of the entire progress of the operation occurred in the last 20 days. You may be upset by thinking that progress on the map is slow. But I must say that the Armenian pm is currently thinking/negotiating about which country to seek asylum.

The circular shaded area, which I am supposing is the unconfirmed taken area (or contested area) is quite reasonable. And so far, announcements by Aliyev has not made them change from shaded to blue.

Honestly, I don't think it's such a bad idea. They could set up thermal coils, same type used in car seat warmers (Battery/solar powered - photocell switch to turn on or off). Though, they should think about animating the puppets..

It seems that the Russians didn't respond to friendships, alliances or partnerships but only brute force.

Those 40 or so Turkish soldiers that were martyred in Idlib was the main turning point in relations I think. Turks went to Moscow and got a humiliating response. And the truth is that the Russians most likely conducted the strike.

But i'm happy to say that since then, the Russians have received their payback in Syria, Libya and now Azerbaijan. Payback in two ways:

Firstly to discredit the military equipment and mercenaries employed or sold by the Russians.

And secondly to show those that seek Russian protection against Turkey, that it is futile.

Next step - once air defences are in place - is a serious Syrian move on the board.
