Then they will be forced to leave. The reason why the drone strikes stopped was because of that agreement, if the armenians dont abide, they will re-start.

Payback also to rattle the cage.

Azerbaijan has plans to connect Nachivan to Baku.
And why would Russia allow Azerbaijan?
Wont CSTO intervene?
I understand that Russia also doesnt like Pashinyan but this would hurt Russias reputation at this point.
Does Azerbaijan have a leverage over Russia like controlling the oil/gas prices?

Pashinyan informed Putin about the invasion of Azerbaijan

TEXT: ALEXANDER IVANITSKY, 14 May 2021, 11:09

New conflict brewing between Armenia and Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani troops entered the Syunik region of Armenia for several kilometers. Baku claims to occupy territories in Lachin and Kelbajar regions.

Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, in a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, reported on the situation in the Syunik region, which the Azerbaijani troops entered. This was reported by the press service of the Armenian Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, May 14.

"Acting Prime Minister of Armenia informed President Putin that today he instructed to officially apply to the CSTO to start consultations in accordance with Article 2 of the organization's agreement," the message says.

The Armenian Defense Ministry told TASS that the Azerbaijani military are on Armenian territory in the border region of Syunik.

"During yesterday's talks, our side strictly demanded that the troops withdraw, noting that they are not going to concede a single meter of our territory. The enemy forces are still in this sector in Syunik, according to our information, they are waiting for orders from the leadership," the ministry said.

The day before, Pashinyan accused Azerbaijan of encroaching on the sovereign territory of Armenia.

The Prosecutor General of Armenia has already opened a criminal case under the article on encroachment on territorial integrity.

Azerbaijan replied that Pashinyan's statements are provocative, and the border troops "occupy positions belonging to Azerbaijan" in the Lachin and Kelbajar regions, which Armenia transferred last year within the framework of a settlement agreement after the aggravation in Nagorno-Karabakh. Azerbaijan claims to be strengthening its borders.

A month ago, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that Baku has no territorial claims against other states.

Apparently Azerbaijani forces have taken positions 9 kilometers deep inside Armenian territory. What the hell is going on? 😂

Can't tell if this is a good or bad development. As we all know, pride comes before fall.

P.S.: Can Azerbaijan really start this kind of intrusion without Ankara's approval and support?

P.P.S.: What if the Armenian side pissed off the Russians once again behind closed doors? What if Baku got green light from Russia? Or is Russia deceiving the Azeris?

Either way, the situation is dangerous.

Definitely a show of force, which is absolutely necessary considering Armenia's reluctance to follow through on the agreements that were made during the negotiations. Basically saying you either open up Syunik or we will open it up for you. Love seeing Azerbaijan so unwavering and resolute in their demands, not taking any bullshit or half-assed measures. Though it I don't think its wise to push it to far.

No one wanted Azerbaijan to win except Turkey and Pakistan. While Turkey is the only nation who any real vested interest to enter a war over Azerbaijan if bigger players involve themselves. It was the spectre of Turkeys potential engagement that kept Russia and Iran out of it.

So you won the war, but the enemy doesn't think the issue is settled. He bowed his head down to buy time in the hope he can fight again. In the next conflict the enemy must be completely crushed.

A mad dog cannot expect to turn sane after getting kicked in the head a few times.

The Azerbaijani army entered 2 ~ km from the Armenian border and took control of the dominating hills east of Gegharkunik/upper Şorca. The map is important to understand the issue.

Purple regions Armenian lands
In the brown regions, there are Armenians in Karabakh
