Except it isnt. There is nothing that indicates it now having a S-duct intake unless you have a clear frontal view picture proving otherwise.

Probably they mastered some new physics which could not do designers of YF-23 and Su-57.

The only "6th gen" designs with vertical stabilizers are from nations that have not even built a 5th gen yet. Both F/A-XX and NGAD are supposed to be tailless as well as the other chinese SAC prototype. I am certain both the US and China have a very good understanding of how future air warfare will look like in regards to their fighter designs.
Obviously maneuvering is not a priority there.

3 engines might simply be necessary for its missions capabilities regarding range, speed and energy generation to power all kinds of new gen systems, whilst still retaining a compact design
2 engines are better. Thats why u dont see 3 engine passenger planes anymore.

For military number of engines is even much more critical.

Or it simply has s-ducts inlets like the F-22/KF-21/ Kaan

a passenger plane does not need to fulfill the mission capabilities of a 6th gen strike/fighter aircraft.

These discussions about 3 engines is pointless, we have 0 idea about requirements of this aircraft and what its trying to achieve.
The requirements might be to achieve 3+ mach speeds to get in through Carrier Battle Groups defenses fast, release anti-ship missiles and get out.

WS-15 is a powerful engine, so China is not lacking in engine department anymore.

There is also a 2 engine "6th gen" aircraft that was seen recently, so this aircraft definitely just has a different set of requirements that require 3 engine layout, and is most likely just a smaller and faster bomber to the bigger Xi'an H-20

Regardless, past 2030, Chinese Air Force will be insane, 800+ J-20s, which will include J-20S with multiple loyal wingmen, 500+ J-16s Super Flankers, and all these 6th gen aircraft will also be entering service. Not even counting J-15T and J-35s for the Navy. China will have more than 1500 4.5/5th gen fighters

USAF is gonna need more than 200 NGADs to compete against such numbers, specially since they will be replacing F-22s instead of adding capability.

In chinese defence forums, they're talking about an old roadmap for a new gen engine which is capable of reaching mach 3-4 and an altitude of 30,000 meters. They say the roadmap was shown in 2017.
