There are so many discussions about the necessity of a 5000 t design in the forum, I really lost track of it.
I was wondering, can we convince them with price range and a fast time line from design to delivery for a new hull. A lighter TF2000, of course, would be among the options as well.
It all depends on how the buyer is manipulated whilst listening to the buyer’s needs, and putting that at the top of the list. There is also the matter of how these negotiations are conducted behind closed doors.

Regarding TF2000, the real question is whether we want a ”Jack-of-all-trades” kind of ship or an “expert” in what it is designed to do kind of ship.
A smaller but still capable midsize frigate can give you the latter in abundance if you design it correctly. Portuguese approach is clever. They want 4000ton, 5000ton and 6000 ton ships. That will address many individual areas of their navy.

🛡️🇹🇷ASSAN's export to 🇰🇷South Korea

🔸ASSAN Group General Manager Gürcan Okumuş: "We won the tender for the MK series as full-round munitions in South Korea, standing out among competitors like General Dynamics. We signed an important contract."

🛡️🇹🇷ASSAN's acquisition of a 🇿🇦South African company shows its impact!

🔸ASSAN Group General Manager Gürcan Okumuş: "The process of transferring that technology to Turkey is ongoing. We will manufacture some very critical fuzes in Turkey. We see that we made a very right move, as there have been serious demands — in the tens of thousands — for the fuzes that have entered our portfolio since the beginning of the fair."

"As part of IDEF 2025, a contract for two MİLGEM İstif-class frigates was signed between TAIS Shipyards and the Indonesian Ministry of Defense, with the participation of our President, Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün.

This agreement marks the first MİLGEM-class export to Indonesia and represents a proud step for our nation as a concrete manifestation of strategic maritime defense cooperation.

We wish this important collaboration, which crowns the shared vision of our two friendly countries in the defense field, to be beneficial."

I do not believe Portugal is going to be jumping on the cheap ADA class solutions or Istif. Please look at the country's location and you'll realize that it's different kind of sea than Med. Sea. If there is a 4-6k ton Frigate design out there that they can use they'll get that.

Bro, I was replying to @Ripley ’s post there. Also I was insinuating corrupt practices.
Please re-read my post #5665 in previous page.
