The kingdom of Morocco plans to Invest $8 Billion USD for 85% 5G Coverage by 2030.

The ambitious project will begin implementation by the end of 2025, with several major cities receiving 5G coverage in the initial phase. This initiative forms part of the broader “Morocco Digital 2030” strategy, which aims to accelerate the country’s digital transformation.

“This investment is more than just about technology,” said Ghita Mezzour, Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition. “It’s about ensuring that every Moroccan—whether in Casablanca or in a remote mountain village—has the opportunity to thrive in a connected, knowledge-based economy.”

By 2030, Morocco is projected to see GDP growth of up to 1.5% directly attributable to 5G-related innovation, according to estimates by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

Important achievements for 2026

-Hosting the AFCON in Morocco, where Morocco aims to deliver the best-ever AFCON with state-of-the-art stadiums, and excellent accommodation for the guest nations, and fans.

-Morocco will open a new deepwater Mediterranean port in 2026 in the city of Nador. Nador port will begin its operations with a capacity of approximately 5.5 million containers (Morocco's first LNG terminal with a floating storage will be installed in this port in the next years with a 1 billion USD investment).

- With the current growth of the tourism sector, it seems that Morocco is heading for between 22-24 million tourists in 2026. This will allow us to generate between 15-16 billion USD in revenues. (2-2.5 billion USD more in revenues compared to 2025).

-Morocco's OCP will start to produce 200,000 tons of green ammonia in 2026, after the OCP group gradually invests 7 billion USD in an ammonia plant using green hydrogen, produced from renewable fuel.

-Two defense industrial zones will be ready to host investors, and be fully operational by the end of 2026.
