We are not going to have 40 Kaan by 2030, even in the best case scenario and trying to use Akıncı for a2a combat would be like trying to use bicycle to fight a tank. And Hürjet is trainer first, we don't even know if its light attack version will be ready by then; not that it would matter, it will always be inferior to proper fighters whether 4th gen or 5th.

This number is hard to sell, but was expected. It's a deal like none other, with expedited training and delivery schedule.

That £8 billion probably includes spare parts and modernizations for aircraft from Oman, maybe Qatar also, although I don't know the difference between Qatari Tranche 3A and Tranche 4 Eurofighters.

Probably would've been cheaper to buy 40 new Tranche 4 Eurofighters directly, but it shows you that Turkish Air Force is more concerned with time than money. They need these aircraft urgently.

Here we go, Türkiye will buy 44 Eurofighters. 20 T4 from the UK , 12 T3 from Qatar, and 12 T3 from Oman. There is also an option for another 20 Eurofighter T5. Total cost is up to 10+ billion $ if all options are exercised. Typhoons from Qatar will be delivered immediately. Omani Eurofighters will be refurbished. Brand new T4 Eurofighters will be delivered starting from 2028 with ECRS Mk2 radars. There is no information on how much we will pay to Qatar and Oman.

With missiles, spare parts and upgrade the older EF.

EF will be our first non US made fighter jet after the participation of NATO. Also the first dedicated air superiority fighter our Air Force ever has. These two factors extremely important and turning points imho.
