I guess the captain of this ship will strugle to get a job again. This guy achieved a bigger naval blockade then any navy has ever achieved and with 100% success. Nothing moves through sending global trade into meltdown.

I guess he can always drown his sorrows with a stiff drink in company of that Italian captain of Costa Concordia - if they let him out of jail.

I hardly think the crew is responsible for the incident.
And question is which captain are you referring to? There are at least 3 captains on such a ship.

The Ever Given ship was successfully turned by an Egyptian crew in the Suez Canal early Monday morning, after it was stuck for nearly a week, according to canal authorities.

The massive ship's grounding impeded international trade, resulting in a pileup with hundreds of vessels in the canal.

What is the latest?​

The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) confirmed in a statement that the ship is now partially floated and turned in the "right direction." Canal service firms and maritime service providers previously reported the ship was once again afloat.

The authority's chief, Osama Rabie, said workers used "pulling maneuvers" to move the ship.

The shipping traffic monitoring site, MarieTraffic.com, said satellite data showed the ship's bow has been moved, but there is "still some work to do.

Successful Refloating of EVER GIVEN​

Admiral Osama Rabie, Chairman and Managing Director of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), has announced today, Monday 29th March, 2021, that the Panamanian container ship has been successfully refloated. This was the result of successful push and tow maneuvers which led to the restoration of 80% of the vessel’s direction; with the stern 102 m. away from the bank of the Canal now instead of 4 m. prior to the refloating.

Maneuvers are set to be resumed once more during high tide at 11:30 a.m.; as it shall reach 2 m., allowing for the full restoration of the vessel’s direction so it is positioned in the middle of the navigable waterway.
His Excellency, Admiral Rabie, would like to reassure the international navigation society as navigation shall be resumed immediately upon the complete restoration of the vessel’s direction and directing it to the Bitter Lakes waiting area for technical inspection.
His Excellency has also commended the efforts of the SCA workers who achieved this heroic feat saying that they have done their patriotic duty impeccably and that in all certainty work will be complete very soon.
