i've noticed that most of them are copies of the US minitions , MMB like the SDB , Akbaba like the AGM-88 HARM , LGK like the Paveway
Harm doesn't have a ramjet engine and Akbaba looks nothing like HARM. When you have NATO standard Mk81 as the baseline you won't have radically different geometry for a small-diameter bomb.

The equipment used in an-apg83 radar has a signal range of 370km.
But there is also the detection range of target (knowing what your target is and where it is.)
This detection range , according to below site is 65 nautical miles (120km).
And the range of target acquisition and locking on to a target in real world. That, according to what @Afif has posted, is under 50 nautical miles (under 90km).

kalkan is not AESA. both block one and two.
As far as I know, this is not true. Kalkan has electronic scanning on a single axis. Aselsan used it as a stepping stone and switched to electronic scanning on 2 axes.

but i didn't understand one thing : if by example i had an AIM-120 AMRAAM missile with a range of about 105 km and the lock on range is below 90 km , how am i gonna use the weapon ? or maybe the 90 km range is for shorter ones like the AIM-9X Sidewinder II

let's say against an Su-30 which has a gigantic RCS
Somewhere between 120-150km depending on the RCS of Su-30 ( approx. 4 square meters).

90 = dedection range for 1 square meter target (you can recalculate using 100 or 120km mentioned in different sources)
4= RCS of Su-30
1= RCS of F-16 or 1 square meter target

Rmax= 90x(4/1)^0.25

Well, you don't.

that's why low RCS is important, (if you want 1/2 detection range you need 16 times less RCS)


You wont be locking on to a Kızılelma from 100 km while you can to F-16.

Also 400km figure is the instrumental range, not detection or so

so the weapon launching is also dependent on the RCS of the plane and the detection range of the radar

Yes, you wont be getting a weapons lock without a radar lock, but there are some "modern" instances where you can use other aircraft radar via datalink to guide your missiles, we can give Kızılelma using TF-X radar to launch a missile as an example

it is also dependant on how good your radar and return dB is, (lower the return dB, lower the minimum signal that can be detected) T/R modules increase the resolution and protection against EW, also makes you able to allocate more antennas for EW or ED


That's why peak power is important

that's why it would play a decent role as a wingman for future 5th and 6th gen fighters , a cost-effective substitute for some models like the MQ-28 Ghost Bat or the XQ-58 Valkyrie
