Somalia recently launched a large offensive against Al-Shabab. They've liberated vast lands and many important cities, towns and villages.

This offensive is largely enables by Turkish support (read training) and TB2 drones conducting airstrikes.

Somali government says that Al-Shabab has requested talks after suffering many defeats on the battlefield!

Big developments here and Turkiye's support bearing fruit. Hopefully Somalia can become peaceful and prosperous.

Americans won't be happy.

I would recommend them the excellent movie Black Hawk Down, maybe that would turn their mood.

When you look at whose destabilising most of these African nations with various terrorist entities two nations keep popping up america and france. When you see how both of them prop up the PKK against even NATO nation Turkey, its actually surprising that any of these african nations were able to stand up to it.

Well, it is a fact that US is the largest funder of UN peacekeeping mission in Africa.
And if somebody argue from that point of view, it can be logically concluded that, USA is the biggest contributor to combating terrorism in Africa.

Yea, if there's any kinda terrorism to be had around Africa, they'd prefer it would be theirs.

Its all about "conflict/resolution" they instigate conflict and then direct it towards a resolution that benefits their geopolitical agenda. Then they go again. If they cannot bring a nation inline they make sure to keep it crippled.

LOL I was referring to the several wrongful behaviors perpetuated by UN peacekeeping forces. Stuff like sexual assault, gross negligence, human trafficking etc.
But that's also true, sadly.

In Congo, people actually rioted, demanding the UN forces to leave and Wagner to come in. Crazy!

Black hawk down happened due to the Americans killing Somali tribal elders who met with militia leaders to negotiate peace but instead the Americans vapourised them.

Due to these acts the Somalis all got pissed off and joined militias to fight off the Americans.

Americans also green lighted the Ethiopian invasion of Somalia which in turn fractured the country even more and allowed Al Shabab to be born out of the chaos.

Americans do love intentionally screwing things up just for their own political interests.

Now the Americans are accusing Turkiye of destabilising Somalia when they have been doing it for decades.

All of the African terrorists/insurgents are creations of the west. The US, France, etc create the problem and present themselves as the solution. Depending on the attitude of the central governments of African nations they turn on or off the heat and control African nations. This won't work anymore. Drones are cheap to obtain and operate and extremely lethal and efficient. They are hard to stop.

Lets not forget the Soviets who supported communist insurgents for decades.

Angola is the prime example of a country destroyed by proxy wars after independance.

European Colonial Powers withdrew but then came indirect rule aka neo colonialism along with the USA and the Soviets vying for control of the contienent after colonialism.

Africa has never recovered lets not forget how most African leaders and elites were put in place by their old colonial masters.

I do believe if the African continent wants to recover it needs to put its tribalism behind unite under a single identity for every country.

Nothijg wrong in acknowleding similarties and differences what matters is that they make their people work together for the good of nation rather than clan or tribe.

More UN peacekeepers are needed in poor African countries for nation building, at least until the basic infrastructures and institutions are being build. Otherwise tribalism will always be there and foreign powers will continue to exploit it for their own gains.

UN peacekeeping forces are not the solution. They're a part of the problem.

Nah UN exists for the benefit of white nations and no one else. They're a curse in Cyprus and have contributed to 50+ years of discrimination and dehumanisation of Turkish Cypriots.

What can i say? You are just cherry picking this and that instead of carefully and thoroughly examining the pros and cons of UN peacekeeping missions in light of history.
Otherwise you could have seen that, the PROS of UN peacekeeping missions in Africa outweigh the CONS by a considerable margin.
Imagine sucking at your job so bloody much, that the people want Wagner to replace you.
Usually in this stage it is irrelevant what they want, because if they actually knew what they want, they could have stop killing themselves in the first place. and there was no need for UN force or Wagner at all.

Anyway, this is going off topic.

In many places they overtly withdraw (european powers) but covertly remained in power. A good example is the 15 or so African nations still under French domination. Next to no media or no european nation wants to speak about this, we recently had the Italian prime minister speak on it but in the grand scheme of things they support each others criminality.

If we look at the media its almost entirely american/european dominated, the only time we get any truth is when the various powers fight each other. But as in the case of Turkiye and the PKK when it comes to 3rd nations they completely align their narratives.

Only the time the rest of the worlds gets some peace is when they fight each other.
