Correct me if I am wrong here. You have 40 Mirages but you will give France 16 of them back as part of the Rafale deal from what I understand.
You have right now 6 Rafales which will be 24 in the future. When the deal is done you will have 24 Mirages and 24 Rafales.
So right now you have 46 jets that can use SCALP. Turkey has 293 jets and a number of Akinci HALE UCAVs constantly increasing in number all of which can use SOM cruise missiles.
In the future you will have 48 jets that can use SCALP.
Turkey will also deploy her Hürjet light combat aircrafts which also carry SOM cruise missiles by 2025.
Yeah I will admit that it looks like Turkey has the advantage at that front but there several steps are being taken right now by Greece. I think that's one of the main reasons why instead of picking the naval scalp, Greece opted to make their fleet more of a local area defender against ships and planes, leaving the ground strike role to the Air Force. The problem isn't our technology but our goverment. In Turkey whenever a new project comes along it is reward with praise and funding. In Greece there have been several projects (UAVs,Missiles,Radars,Jammers) using the new forefront of technology and managing to utilise it really early on since the 80s but they always found a way through goverment corruption to get swept under the rug ; a few that come to mind are the F-16 Drone by ΕΑΒ in 1985, the Τηλεμαχος anti-uav radar and the Σαρισα Laser guided bomb , but like always as soon as the corresponding goverment officials get questioned in regards of any project they always dodge the question. In Greece when it comes to the defence industry there has always been a history of coruption and scandals of officials being paid off by foreign competitors to pick their product .
But anyways back to the measures, while yes it is quite late, several drone companies have finally gotten funding, with the most prominent being LOTUS which is funded by Europe using a really ambitious Mother-Swarm design, there are several detection systems and counter-measure being built like the new Πανοπτης system that has recently won a NATO competiotion in it's class and Soukos Robotics laser weapon system that can apparently shoot down a drone every 3 seconds and has a range from 5-20km ; but again it's up to Greece if it will fund them.
They are also upgrading the Pariots electornics, and creating a huge grid system through Link 16 with the Patriot,F-16 block 52M, block 72 ,Rafale, FDI HN, Gowind and probably the Block 30 and Block 50+ that are scheduled for the aproval by congress of a program that either converts them to Block 50Ms or something between a Block 50M and a Block 70. Except the 8 types of air defence systems, I beleive that there should be the purchase of systems like the Iron Dome ,which are cheap and made to shoot down less valuable targets.
