Now it complicates further, which class society Navy prefers if the design originating from abroad ? Is it sufficient if it is member of IACS or should be one among the list given by them? Is BV common or rare?

I think if it was truly from Turkey they wouldn't really seek for a re-classification and would go with Turkish Lloyd.

Judging by KSY's website looks like CCS for Chinese design and BV for others.
Are you talking about Hapaq-Lloyd ? I just recently read an article that mentioned them as rival to Maersk. Didn’t know what they were doing until then 😀?

Turkish Lloyd is turkish classification society like Germanicher Lloyd, Det Norske Veritas, Bureu Veritas, etc :)
They control and certify everything from design to sea trials, authorized agencies on behalf of states who require 'sea worthiness' of vessels registered by them.

Aha that rings a bell, I thought DNV sounded familiar, they were used quite a bid by DONG energy with regards oil platforms and supply vessel stuff. Been some 10 years since I changed jobs.

Summary Stats of IDEF21

1629635619834.png

"It has grown so much that in its 15th year, IDEF has no place to fit in. We have filled 40 thousand square meters. This is the capacity of TÜYAP.
IDEF has become one of the few fairs in the world. We are playing for the world's first place in bilateral meetings and square meters. We are in the third place in the world in terms of company participation.
The reason for this is that they have very large stands. Only ASELSAN's stand is 5 thousand square meters, you cannot find such a large stand in other fairs. We had to set up a navigation system for the exhibitors to take their products to the fairground and find their place. navigation system was used. This is a measure of the size of the fair."

Drawing attention to the high level of participation in the fair, Infantry stated that senior officials from 81 countries, including defense ministers and chiefs of general staff, came to IDEF 2021.
Giving the information that more than 160 foreign delegations made various contacts at the fair, Piyade said, "IDEF broke its own record every time in terms of company participation. We had 1061 participants in 2019, we reached 1236 here.

If we had space, it could have been even more. We set our targets very high,
'Which company can give us a place in 2023?' We think. We will need at least 50-55 thousand square meters.

IDEF23 will need a bigger Center.

This is STMs concept design. STM offers this design for international markets. This has nothing to do with the Turk Class FAC project.
I should write this so that your post will not mislead people:

The new concept has;
-Exactly the same tonnage (Increased as per requests of the Navy)
-Maximum-continuous speed and range (reduced to 45 knots from 55 knots at particular sea state)
-Complement (Number of maximum personnel has been increased from what planned earlier)
-Sensor outfit (X-DAR that is in development for TN-FAC, tracking radars, EOTS, EW suite (ED/EA), LPI and voyage radars)
-Weapons outfit (Exact same layout as the Ada Class)
- forgot to add, exactly same propulsion, 2 gas turbine on steerable waterjet, one gas turbine on booster waterjet.

Moreover, STM's FAC55 design has not been ordered neither the Navy has approved that, but SSB-STM has signed a development project that spans from concept to contract design that is being carried out in cooperation with Navy. Also i have information on FAC55 current status through direct channels but i can not make everything explicit in here. I am not implying this is the FAC Turkish Navy getting, but these design updates are related to ongoing FAC design process that is for the Turkish Navy.

It is really better to not talk big on subjects you don't know much about.

We should build a museum for prototypes.

Imo ... Its a normal stage that every growing military industry passes through ... U have to see what the french for example produced in 70s and 80s ... A lot of ideas ..a lot of projects. most of them didnt go to production .. but they accumulated knowledge and experience and matured gradually ... So its normal
