Shame on Turkish gun manufacturers because they haven't been able to Submachine gun which SAT would use!

Shame on Sarsılmaz due-to their 9mm AR platform couldn't earn trust of Turkish SAT.

Turkish SAT conducting naval training with CZ Scorpion SMG ! on TCG in Libya!

They replaced MKEK MP5 clones with CZ Scorpion. İnteresting if our army prefers a gun, it is really better than others.

İt is time for creating a reliable SMG.

I don't want sig mpx clones which have gas-piston system.

We need clones of BT APC9K with hydraulic buffer.

The Special Forces Command is currently testing Mertsav MAR556 in 14.5 and 7 inch configurations.

So far the opinions are very positive!

Looks solid, cold hammer forged barrel, MLOK, interesting muzzle device and barrel profile, however...

Everything below 11.5" is nowdays not ideal for modern military grade 5.56x45 rounds especially without suppressor mounted on, 7.5" is literally a mini flamethrower (muzzle flash) and extremly loud. We can see that Jandarma (JOH) is using them in operations, without suppressors, in a firefight at night this is like showing the enemy where you/unit are the moment you pull that trigger. Does the Military think about such important details? I don't think so when i see that they are interested or consider a 7" rifle chambered in 5.56x45...

This chart here shows how much velocity and energy the 5.56x45 is losing below 11".

If we compare the 7" 5.56x45 with a 7" 300.Blk we see the difference, even though the 300.Blk has less velocity it's heavier bullet has nearly 50% higher stopping power, another huge benefit of the 300.Blk is you can shoot it reliably subsonic which means lower noise and flash signature.

*NOTE: fps -> feet per second.

They would probably use these as PDWs in scenarios requiring lower profile. So far they are impressed with its stability in automatic firing mode and describe an interesting burning effect on the target.

OKK is searching for ways of diversification of its inventory.

Yeah, it's not like special forces are going to use short barrels on open space. I assume they choose to go with 5.56 instead of 9x19 for logistical reasons as well? It would probably make their lives easier if everyone was on the same calibre after all.

Why testing another carbine since There is MPT55? Same platform.
Companies like Sarsilmaz, Kale and Mertsav are delivering more customization options and probably better performance.

For a SOF it is normal to test different platforms. Mertsav is still in testing phase and they went with Sarsilmaz in 11" version as a bigger purchase. They will probably fill the 7" and 14.5" with Mertsav.
Never heard them. Are they any good?
So far the opinions are positive. They also delivered 5.56 LMG to POH.

Canik outs two new pistols in the micro compact class which are narrow in width and sized to be conceal carried easily.

Canik went crazy. This micro compact pistol takes ordinary magazines from standart models. They made very thin chasis and body. Great 👍🏻
Their previous models were all intended for military and police therefore they were not carry friendly. They were thick and were meant for open carry mostly. These models starting with the first MC9 are thin with 28.5 mm width as opposed to 36-38mm and easy are to carry inside the waist band. This marks the beginning of Canik competing with Glock head on. You can modify these models to your liking and build the dream gun for yourself. Or rather for American gun owners as they have much more freedom to do modifications while our guns for the most part must be used as they come from the manufacturers, They should offer more factory mods as the manufacturers.

Tactical versions of these pistols with a longer barrel and some fancy add ons can make these guns irresistible to buy.

It is good that we have multiple firms capable of producing assault rifles and light machine guns. God forbid but these are among the first things you need to ready everyone for a defense when your country faces an all-out war

Micro Bullpup Rifles: A Necessity for the Turkish Security Forces

1729369048722.jpeg

1. Advantages of Bullpup Rifles:

  • Short Length: Their shorter length compared to classic rifles increases maneuverability in confined spaces. This feature provides a significant advantage in urban warfare, buildings, and vehicles.
  • Weight Distribution: The center of gravity is closer to the shooter's body, improving carrying and maneuverability. This reduces fatigue during prolonged operations.
  • Better Ergonomics: In bullpup rifles, the trigger mechanism is located behind the magazine. This allows the shooter to aim and fire more comfortably.
  • Less Recoil: Bullpup rifles have a longer barrel length, resulting in less recoil. This allows the shooter to fire faster and more accurately.
2. Advantages of the Desert Tech Wolverine Micron Model:

  • Modular Design: The Wolverine Micron is designed to be compatible with different barrel lengths, magazine capacities, and optical systems. This allows for customization for different missions.
  • High Accuracy: The Wolverine Micron is a high-precision rifle. It offers the ability to hit targets accurately even at long distances.
3. Suitability for the Turkish Security Forces:

  • Special Operations Units: Micro bullpup rifles are ideal for special operations units operating in confined spaces.
  • Paratroopers: Their short length and light weight make them ideal for paratroopers.
  • Helicopter, Aircraft, and Ship Personnel: Micro bullpup rifles provide a significant advantage for personnel operating in limited spaces.
  • Intelligence and Embassy Protection Personnel: Ideal for covert operations and protection missions.
4. Deficiencies of Current Weapon Systems:

  • 9mm and 5.7mm Caliber Submachine Guns: These weapons lack the capacity to use more powerful ammunition. Additionally, their length can increase when a suppressor is attached.
5. Advantages Provided by the Micro Bullpup Rifle:

  • More Powerful Ammunition: Powerful ammunition such as 5.56mm, 7.62x39mm, and 7.62x54mm provides more effective firepower.
  • Compact Size: Even with a suppressor attached, the length does not increase. This enhances maneuverability in confined spaces.
6. Relationship with MPT76 and MPT55:

  • The micro bullpup rifle does not replace the MPT76 and MPT55. This rifle is designed to meet a different need.
7. Export Potential:

  • The micro bullpup rifle will be in high demand in civilian and military markets worldwide. This presents a significant export opportunity for Turkey's defense industry.
Conclusion:

The micro bullpup rifle is an ideal weapon system to meet the needs of the Turkish security forces. I believe this rifle will enhance the operational capabilities of the Turkish security forces and create a significant export opportunity for Turkey's defense industry.

The problems with bullpups that i know: triggers linking mechanism usually gives a bad experience because it is not like a native bullpup, its just an old school mechanism like ak or ar being carried backward and stock removed sort of weirdness. The other problem is often difficulty of accessing the mechanism when it jams etc. Also the ejection becomes problematic, need a mechanism to prevent cases from hitting the wrong places. Reloading is less straightforward. But all that being said, the ability to have 16 or 20 inch barrels in such a short overall length is a valuable asset.
