well then, happy to see the SU-35 saga coming to an end. We're not going to survive air war post 2030 with SU-35.

Rafale is more expensive to acquire but lesser operational cost than Eagle 2 (and Su35).
i believe it's kinda normal why F15 have a higher operational cost
F15EX basically its a bigger aircraft compared to Rafale, more powerfull engine, heavier, higher MTOW, faster and ext

Consider it as a market failure accompanying Mig 35.

Such one engined plane is overly too late to enter the market. Beside, the design isn't good looking enough.
i have strolled into russian forum long time ago but forgot where/what forum, they're even doubting whether mig-35 really exist or not .

SU 75 doesn't even a proven design / ready for production aircraft yet....
estimated first flight is 2023, we'll never know if they gonna change or modify the design....

if you guys simply make a judgement based on what you've seen now without considering all the potentials behind it...
well, how you guys judge the X-32 (first flight 18 Sept 2000 vs X-35 20 Oct 2000) back then??

I simply stated that they failed their target customer. Ofc there will be changes when the productions series come out.

If it doesn't look right, it can't fly right.

When you realized that F15 EX use flying boom for aerial refueling then the A400M "air tanker" will be useless to support the old F16 and F15 EX.
At the very least, it's probably still possible to mount CARTS CFT that has refueling probe on our existing F-16.

Also:

While that was an old news from 2012, and that I haven't found anything newer regarding F-15E CFT + fuel probe development, the possibility still exists.

Of course, all of it will return to these golden words: "If the money is there."

it boggles me that some of our neighbour (singkies and aussies) are still interested on our matters of jet fighter procurement.

And we ought to be interested and concerned into their own procurement programs as well. We've been quite complacent all these years since we think we'll never become a threat to our neighbours.

But that's hardly matter for them since they see us as both their potential ally and potential adversary.

well then, happy to see the SU-35 saga coming to an end. We're not going to survive air war post 2030 with SU-35.

Agree. And this is not only because a certain country in the region has more than twice of 11 Su-35 that we were planning to buy that are already operational, but also because of their flying and maintenance cost will burden us more in the long run.

post 2030 if everything hoes as planned. IdAF will operate :

  • F-15EX
  • Dassault Rafale
  • KF-21
  • T-50
  • F-16
  • Hawk 200s (could be retired)
  • SU-27/30 (could be retired)

good luck for the maintenance team to ensure readiness with at least 7 different engined plane. :ROFLMAO:

If what you mean as "doesn't look right" equates as "ugly", the A-10 jocks will beg to differ.

Somehow I think that our Hawk will be replaced by T-50s and probably FA-50 as well.

Yeah should add at least 2 squadron worth of TA-50, that Hawk purchase in the 90s are a bad mistake. Prolly in late 30s we could start retiring our F-16 as well to streamline the fleet into Rafale+EX+Golden_Eagle combo.

but there would be a drama caused by that Elta's EL/M-2032
or maybe switch it to AN/APG-79?
