This should be Air Force or strategic industry related question

Which engine should we choose for our F-15EX? GE or PW?
Currently only GE engine is certified for the F-15EX and all F-15EX will be powered with it, meanwhile our F-16 is powered by PW(F100-PW-220) and we are familiar with it, if we choose PW for our F15EX we can choose the latest version of the engine which is (F100-PW-229).

More about the engine:

Won't be much difference. Yes there is commonality to be enjoyed if you pick PW....but MRO impact of new GE engine wont be huge factor as labour+training+capital etc for any engine is much larger than costs (and any economy of scale savings by larger combined orders etc) parts supply + inventory warehousing and so on.

Also the number of aircraft we talking about here isnt that huge to make much differences here, unless there is large follow up plan for lot more F-15 EX or more F-16s etc....in which case picking shared PW powerplant for both starts to become an advantage to consider more.

Just take F15 with GE. I don't think Indonesia gov want to pay more for PW certification. We have to wait longer too.

Use GE for new F16 too.

Well sure I guess. Depends how fast this stuff moves in first place.

The engine choice is really not a big issue compared to moving the acquisition along to begin with.

Not related to AURI, but this make me wondering:
Are there any plan investing HAS for AURI base? To increase the survivability for those new rafale.
HAS or no HAS doesn't matter. Many cruise/ballistic missile could be fitted with earth penetration warhead (EPW). Its bad investment imo.

What we can do is increase situational awareness of an impending attack + layered defense for all class A airbase.

At least make individual hangar for each aircraft, and not line them up like a salted fish in a single hangar.
