With the sole exception of the Typhoon, any fighter we procure would face delayed delivery due to worldwide reduction of industrial capacity in general. Let's say both Rafale deal from Greece & Indonesia went through. Does Dassault have enough capacity to deliver to all their customer within a reasonable amount of time? 3 - 4 years is quite long for Indonesia case, considering the situation up north

There are some possible scenario if the deals go thru. They can "loan/lease" some of theirs to be stationed here as trainer platform as well as perhaps limited military operation. But until now I still dont see how we going to finance that 36 with all those other projects on the line, specially our commitment to buy something from US. But hey miracle do happen sometime right? 😁

And dassault still need to build Rafale for French air force to replace the one that will be sold to Greece.

If we build Rafale here is it possible that it will be faster? We don't need to queue in Dassault production line, though if the subsystems supplier can't keep up then it will be useless to open production line here to speed things up.

Because of all of these reasons, I got the feeling that we'll buy more used Typhoon than just the 15 from Austria.

Once all the 2024 new year celebrations ended, the war could start anytime soon. Rafale, F-15, F-18, won't be ready by then.

Extremely doubt it. That would require there is another used Typhoon fleet available for sale. Is there any other used Typhoon fleet currently available on the market?

In the last several years :

- Italy has been offering ttheir used Typhoon to at least Bulgaria & Croatia

- Spain has been offering their used Typhoon to at least Colombia

- UK had 16 used twin-seat Typhoon for sale once, before they decided to scrap them for spare parts. Not sure if RAF have used for sale now though.

- We all know that Germany has recently signed a deal to buy 38 latest variant Typhoon to replace their 38 Tranche 1.

If we ask Airbus pretty sure they would say there are some available.

"Is there any other used Typhoon fleet currently available on the market with the tag price as cheap as Austria?"

Considering that Luftwaffe currently only have 4 (four) operational Typhoon with the rest are grounded for a variety of reasons. The Luftwaffe stock could potentially worth €1 / plane (one euro) just like the Heer Leopard 2A4 stock. Obviously there will be "refurbishment / reconditioning" cost exclusively for Airbus in order for such deal to proceed

Do we have some firm deadlines when some decisions are to be made/confirmed on the acquisition choice(s)?

It will be January coming up or sometime early like that? etc...

More likely during Indonesian Defense Show sometimes around April 2021 all would be revealed (fighter purchase deals, Frigates deal, Submarine deal, maintenance deal, more of armor order deal, Helicopter deal, Osprey deal and so on), the show actually would be held in October but pandemic affected the schedule severely

"The offers put out by France, which one Korean defense industry source said included a much larger transfer of fighter jet technologies, has enticed Indonesia....., The KF-X is a fighter jet that currently exists only on a blueprint, but the Rafale is a jet in operation,For Indonesia, [outfitting its air force with the French jets] may be a deal worth pursuing even if it means relinquishing 227.2 billion won.”

Whatever the result might be we surely need to make a decission as it will effect our long term fighter acquisition plan and budget alocation.

With 48 rafales, the air-force can withhold 5th gen fighter acquisition till at least 2030. By then the KF is fully 5th gen, the F-35 is most probably available to Indonesia and the TF-X is about to enter FOC.

The down side of cancellation is that Indonesia will again be seen as an untrustworthy partner, and will probably have to make more concessions in the future to win over the lost reliability.

are they trying with "bisikan" FCAS ? both sokor and french already showed how much they willing to give their TOT (transfer of technology) , especially with the makassar class , Anoa and Komodo .

If you call that "untrustworthy partner", what do you call the French in their involvement in the Eurofighter project (that eventually give birth to both Typhoon & Rafale)?

Real world business doesn't work based upon good feeling, it works by being pragmatic

still haven't figured it out.
M2 Browning/Pindad SM5 on Adunok RCWS from Belarus, they swap the original location of the optics and ammo box.
