This is what i said before, all the national stakeholders for gas turbine users and manufacturing plants, governmental researcher, universities, KKIP, etc... must have coordination and roadmap together (organized by R&D minister) in order to be able in designing and manufacturing our own gas turbine, and later on, our own fighter jet propulsion engines

Ain't going to happen within any foreseeable future

Nope. It is BPPT program, not Siemens. BPPT research and design it and then NTP built it for them

Well done...,then it's a milestone that we have. At least we have it for roadmap of industrial/power plant gas turbine.

The gas turbine propulsion for cruise missile from ITB also another milestone to achieve, hopefully in the near future.

All of these technological expertise and experiences need to have a systematic road map with the fighter jet propulsion as a top notch target. We cannot ask other country to "teach" us how to make jet propulsion with "zonk" experience. Sweden has Kongsberg as industrial gas turbine's OEM, but Grippen still using GE's engine for its propulsion.

I want to recall the news that I read long time ago, when our delegation came to TKMS for submarine's deal. When it comes to ToT that we asked (to built some part of subs in PT PAL) they just laughed on us, they says it's not that simple to built subs.
Thus, we came to Sokor and asked the same thing. This time they were willing to assisted us. Nowadays, we built our KS Alugoro mostly in PT PAL, then TKMS came to us offered the ToT. Those who laughed on us when we came to them in the old days, now came here offering their product...with ToT included. We see the big difference now....between the one with "zonk" experience and the one with proven experience.

For the gas turbine for jet engine, we need to hire foreign expert to expedite the process. During N 250 program for instant, Habibie hired some foreign expert to work inside the program. That is fastest way to master high technology.

As far as I know, there is no such thing happen currently, and it is also because all of our research institution researcher are civil servants, we need to make some law that enable foreigner to work in our research institution and with very high salary.

Or at least we can hire them through our new R&D institution set up for our state owned defense holding and make collaborative research program with all of our research institution, based on their specialty of course. They should be highly paid.

We can use respected Job Hunter company to do the job or utilize our engineers network in Western countries/Ukraine/Belarusia/South Africa and so on.

Today with Linkedin network, it is very easy to find some capable researcher/engineers from Western countries. It is stupid if we dont do it. Why do we need to buys some very expensive defense equipment to get so little TOT if we just can use much minimal money to hire some expert in the West or Ukraine or Belarusia or South Africa to work directly with our program ???

China use similar way when they tried to master automobile engine technology and hire retired Japanese expert, this is just a small example, I believe they are doing much larger than just this tiny example.

Why do we need to buys some very expensive defense equipment to get so little TOT if we just can use much minimal money to hire some expert in the West or Ukraine or Belarusia or South Africa to work directly with our program ???

Experts help when there is a background knowledge,pre-existing abilities and capability to add on top.

Instead, officially you can establish a connection, send engineers&technicians to be trained, invite their engineers as a whole team for train in-place, secure deals, secure the collaboration. In my opinion this is easier than luring individuals.

Unless there is excess amount of money and a good luck to catch a falling apart company like UAE did, which hired from engineers, technicians, production engineers to design engineers from Denel, and paid great amounts to hire well-known experts for some other things, there is no shortcut to success.

Even a quickly earned success is prone to die without an ecosystem, consisting of universities, start-ups, medium-large businesses, factories, specialized producers.

Turbine component for even big Power plant is made by PT Barata Indonesia, another state owned company, so we can easily make some kind of cooperation between them.

i work in the same group prior Cilegon facility was sold to PT Barata Indonesia, so my knowledge only limited to facility in Cilegon.
