Indeed. While, arguably, what Israel fought against weren't the top militaries that posessed advanced electronic warfare capabilities, but at least they still know what they're doing and that their EW stuffs are among the best in the business.

That's why I still think it's a good thing if we can get the F-15EXI even without EPAWSS - that is, as long as our top officials understand to also acquire suitable replacement in its place at the same time.

Buy it with other alternative(s) in place of EPAWSS if the US still won't allow us to have it.

If and when they eventually allow us to have it, then we can choose whether to stay with our customized F-15EXI EW suite or to change it back to the US standard.

Of course, all of this means nothing if we can get the full package from the start.

Oh well, even the "walmart" version is still an improvement especially for us considering that we intend to buy 36 of them. Besides, as I have already written in my other posts, it's not as if we're left without other choices.

Especially in this case, try to look at bigger picture rather than stuck with the unavailability of one thing even if it's a 'core technology' like what you've written.

Well, if somehow we failed to have F-15EX, at the very least the Qatari version is the next best version of the F-15.

Although it seems unlikely considering that the F-15E production lines are now gearing up to the EX version - or so I think.

Yes. might as well designated it as F15id like we did to that crappy F16id. i don't get people obsession with downgraded stuff. sure it's improvement to have f-15QA with DEWS but it's just that, an F-15QA not F-15EX. remember what we buy today has to be future proof because we are not rich country with massive budget for military. we need to learn from the past. try not to always acquire shitty stuff.
