which one do you guys think is better though, an all in one SPAA systems (surveillance radar + Target acquisition radar + anti air weaponry either cannon or missile are in one platform) like Pantsir, Tunguska, Gepard AA, Type 87 or PGZ-09.
or a systems with multiple separate module that are placed on dedicated platform like said an mobile AA system composed of 5 vehicle :
3 vehicle are for the firing unit (equipped with cannon or either missile).
1 vehicle equipped with Surveillance radar.
1 vehicle equipped with Target Acquisition radar.
Different beast for different usage scenario.
For a mobile point aerial defense, all in one platform equipped with radar, IR and laser sensors and armed with
both cannons and short to medium range surface to air missile is preferred.
The second option will be more suitable for a wider air defense area coverage - like to protect a field command post, for example. However, if several of the first option can also be deployed as part of a system, integrated with a command vehicle and a surveillance/target acquisition radar, you'll have the best of both worlds.
