Budget wise Police forces had around six to seven Billion US Dollar, one of the largest budget for any Police forces in the region even larger compared to Sinkies. They should have had much more complex weaponry to add to give Brimob more edge to do their duty as the only active Paramilitary units in Indonesia. Beside IFV, they should be equipped with 60 mm mortar, RPG like weaponry and automatic grenade launcher along with HMG.

I am sorry mam, I don't agree with you, Brimob Police is law enforcement unit, if they need to fight strong enemy like GAM back days, government just form combined unit with military, no need to have heavy weaponry in our law enforcement unit.

Even their origin had taken root as Special Police unit forces from Imperial Japan Navy (Tokubetsu Kaisatsu Tai) or Tokitai, they are close rival from the Army Kempetai. Much. Jasin the Brimob father itself is came from Tokitai Surabaya branch and being educated as Special Police forces under Navy doctrine. There is other reason why TNI AD doesn't hold candle with Pelopor or Ranger from Brimob as they are rival in the same field.

While i do understand the sentiments and their glorious history reminiscent . At the end of the day . They ( Brimob ) do fall into the civil public security juridiction . Even by today standar oknum's arrogance aside their sabharas solving problem attitude were allready bit too heavy handed and militarized for my taste .
It might my biased tendencies but i rather keep the present situation as we were as now . Rather then keep up arming the civilian** institute we better upping the ante
of our proper armed forces at least closer to the normal modern military standard be it equpment or tactic . To be honest we get too many trashy out of job officer yet too lacking in the proper specialized NCO in the batallion and company proper .

Perkuat Pengawasan dan Berantas Illegal Fishing Ilustrasi KP Hiu 13 KKP [KKP] ☆

Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan (KKP) terus berupaya dalam menjaga kedaulatan Wilayah Pengelolaan Perikanan Negara Republik Indonesia (WPP-NRI).

Kebijakan terbaru Menteri KKP Wahyu Sakti Trenggono, adalah menambah dua armada Kapal Pengawas Perikanan bertipe kapal cepat dengan nama KP Hiu 16 dan KP Hiu 17. Kedua kapal itu diproyeksikan untuk memperkuat pengawasan dan memberantas illegal fishing di WPPNRI 571-Selat Malaka dan 711-Laut Natuna Utara.

Wahyu Sakti Trenggono meresmikan KP Hiu 16 dan KP Hiu 17 pada acara Apel Siaga PSDKP dan Peresmian Kapal Pengawasan Perikanan di Batam, Selasa (09/03/2021).

“Hari ini kita sama-sama akan melihat dua armada kapal pengawas perikanan baru KKP, KP Hiu16 dan KP Hiu 17. Kecepatan dua kapal ini jauh melebihi kapal-kapal pengawas yang sudah kita punya,” ungkap Trenggono.

Sehingga, untuk saat ini KKP memiliki total 30 unit Kapal Pengawas Perikanan yang terdiri dari 4 kapal pengawas kelas A dengan panjang diatas 50 meter, 3 unit Kapal Pengawas Kelas B dengan panjang 40-50 meter, 12 unit Kapal Pengawas kelas C dengan panjang 30-40 meter termasuk dua unit kapal baru ini, 10 unit Kapal Pengawas kelas D dan 1 unit Kapal Pengawas kelas E.

Trenggono menjelaskan bahwa penambahan kapal patroli pengawasan yang memadai merupakan salah satu strategi penting untuk menjaga kelestarian sumber daya kelautan dan perikanan serta memberantas pencurian ikan di laut Indonesia. Trenggono menjanjikan akan terus menambah armada pengawasan yang lebih besar dan canggih.

“Saya berkeinginan membangun kapal pengawas perikanan sekelas kapal fregat secara bertahap”, ujar Trenggono.

Dalam arahannya kepada awak kapal pengawas perikanan, Menteri Trenggono juga berpesan agar bekerja keras dalam menjaga kedaulatan pengelolaan perikanan di WPP-NRI. Dia juga mengingatkan agar perubahan regulasi termasuk Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 27 tahun 2021 tentang Penyelenggaran Bidang Kelautan dan Perikanan menjadi pedoman dalam pelaksanaan pengawasan di lapangan.

“Tidak hanya mengawasi illegal fishing tapi juga mengawasi pelanggaran wilayah penangkapan. Penambahan kapal, kekuatan armada, pasti akan kita lakukan terus,” ujar Trenggono kepada media, Selasa (09/03).

Dalam kesempatan yang sama, Trenggono juga menjelaskan alasan dari rencana pembangunan pos pangkalan di Natuna.

“Pangkalan merupakan suatu tempat yang kita berharap kita ada, kita hadir. Supaya intersafe kita cepat jadi kalau terjadi sesuatu kita bisa lebih cepat,” ujar Trenggono.

Di lokasi acara, Plt Direktur Jendral PSDKP Antam Novambar mengatakan KP Hiu 16 dan KP Hiu 17 adalah series design pertama milik KKP. Didesain bersama dengan Badan Pengkajian dan Penerapan Teknologi (BBPPT) dan dibangun oleh PT Palindo Marine Batam.

“Jadi dalam pembangunan kapal ini, kami mengedepankan peran industri perkapalan dalam Negeri,” ujar Antam.

Direktur Pemantauan dan Operasi Armada KKP, Pung Nugroho Saksono menjelaskan bahwa kedua kapal tersebut dibangun dengan material yang kuat namun tidak menurunkan kecepatan kapal.

“Aluminium Alloy yang sangat ringan namun kuat. Supaya minim korosi dan perawatannya cenderung lebih mudah. Ini kapal tercepat yang kami miliki saat ini,” ujar pria yang akrab dipanggil Ipunk ini.

KP Hiu 16 dan 17 ini telah dilengkapi dengan alat navigasi dan teknologi canggih. Mulai dari Global Positioning System (GPS), Navigator Platter, Auto pilot, Magnetic Compas Reflector, Automatic Identification System (AIS) serta Electronic Chart Display and Information System.

KP Hiu 16 dan 17 juga dilengkapi dengan drone sebagai alat pendokumentasian dalam kegiatan prosedur penghentian, pemeriksaan dan penahanan (Henrikhan) kapal ilegal.

“Teknologinya sangat memadai untuk mendukung proses Henrikhan,” ujar Ipunk.(Hendra)
