That will be one step back, of course. But if it means that the navy will use that opportunity to conduct thorough investigation in order to prevent further accidents from happening again, it will be worth it in the long run.Well, i am more concerned on how we are to cope the aftermath of this incident. KRI Nanggala 402 set crew is one of the most experience and best we had, they had nurturing decades worth of knowledge and set skill as submariner and now in this incident, just as most of the senior crew is training new batch of Submariner in this drill, they had to perished. meanwhile this happened when Indonesia Navy is already set to expanding the silent service....there is bound to many cancellation of programme (especially live excercise, drill, routine sailing and so on) and even basic training mostly being done with using simulator.
they can keep their 110ft long bucket of boltsnot related to navy but close , currently there's an uproar in US , one of the imporant historical piece of vessels during 9/11 , Cutter USCGC ADAK wanted to be sold to indonesian coast guard ...
"Untuk itu ia berharap para pembuat keputusan benar-benar memikirkan TNI dan prajuritnya, bukan hanya ”asal bapak senang” demi pangkat dan kursi yang enak atau keuntungan material."More about lieutenant Colonel Heri Oktavian
He want to have sub more than Changbogo class. More deterrent!
Okay, definitely something wrong with Alugoro.Pesan dari Komandan KRI Nanggala-402
Kami pun bertukar gosip. Heri sangat khawatir dengan rencana pembelian kapal selam bekas. Ia menceritakan betapa TNI AL, khususnya korps Hiu Kencana, membutuhkan kapal selam mumpuni, yang mampu bertempur.www.kompas.id
my reaction exactlyjust whaaaaa......t?!
And now we lost him."Untuk itu ia berharap para pembuat keputusan benar-benar memikirkan TNI dan prajuritnya, bukan hanya ”asal bapak senang” demi pangkat dan kursi yang enak atau keuntungan material."
Ouchhh!! Some serious words right here. He was not kind of guy that "jilat pantat atasan sampai bersih" aka Penjilat. This guy was a serious idealist, really hard to "nekuk-nekuk" This kind of guy, a good leadership material. Good he was a Submarine Commander, that makes people to stay believe if meritocracy still exist.
officially given coordinates is actually very close to swift rescue's location:Is this accurate? If yes it is more North than previously thought here

Mega Bakti has arrived, i think it is first headed to the port and will be loaded with Indian DSRV.
Swift Rescue is in fixed position:
KRI Rigel deployed to another sector,
KN-SAR ships scanning the region through, we can assume they are hunting for the debris.
KRI Soputan,ocean-going tug is on the way to one of the sites.

Well if we're going with the salvage plan, we better do it fast, before the site will be buried under tons of mudIs this accurate? If yes it is more North than previously thought here

You do know that If you ever try to refute their claim you will be banned simply for not being "white" enough. It doesn't matter be that in any social-media, or the not-so neutral Wikipedia, Reddit, Quora, etc. If you ain't white or black then you will be banned if you're ever voicing any dissenting opinionthey can keep their 110ft long bucket of bolts
we dont want it
also folks just take a look at this

these people man
Not many countries have specialized with submarine recovery, especially one which has lost the structural integrity.Well if we're going with the salvage plan, we better do it fast, before the site will be buried under tons of mud
I will find the guys who write such articles and crush their head...The maintenance of the submarine must be done once every 6 years until its service life, and after that, it is common to shorten the period, which means that the maintenance of the submarine has not been performed for 9 years . The maintenance of the submarine was scheduled for next year. Even a local military source told the Hankook Ilbo that "the submarine has never submerged since 2018."
Some believe that the political intent is underpinned by this non-regular training. The reason is that it is unclear why the training to launch a torpedo with an old German submarine has not yet been entered, with torpedoes entering the new Korean submarine . In fact, Defense Minister Frabower Subianto has expressed interest in purchasing additional German submarines.

Hmmm... why all nagapasa class never firing its Blackshark torpedo and in this drill use old submarine instead ?
there's always problem with nagapasa class but the problem mostly lies on ship system especially their battery and as far as i know, most of those problem already resolved.Okay, definitely something wrong with Alugoro.

Seems pretty fast to me.How long would it take mud to settle in that region?
Hmmm... I'll delete my post. Please dont be kompor
From the latest press conference the Navy Chief of Staff did mention that they had received few offers for salvage, but not mentioning further, other that they need to discuss it further with the gov't (most likely for funding)Not many countries have specialized with submarine recovery, especially one which has lost the structural integrity.
It can take months to prepare a plan and deploy recovery ships, probably it will be done by US.
How long would it take mud to settle in that region?
probably would take a year or two (if the gov really committed), the gov needed to find a company who specialized on deep sea salvage, set up planning/do simulation, man power, constructing specialized equipment needed for salvage, etc (also there's this pandemic thing going on).Well if we're going with the salvage plan, we better do it fast, before the site will be buried under tons of mud
either that or some Dutch companyprobably it will be done by US.
If the 2nd CBG program will be cancelled, at this point I can't decide whether it's good or not. Good, if it means that the navy and MoD will look for other options - let's say, Scorpene subs which some will be assembled and eventually build in Indonesia. But if the root of the problems with CBG program actually mostly came from our side, then I'm afraid it won't make much difference.there's always problem with nagapasa class but the problem mostly lies on ship system especially their battery and as far as i know, most of those problem already resolved.
but i'm sure after this incident our CBG batch 2 program with south korea would be under scrutiny from politician and public and the possibility those program to be canceled/replace would be higher.
though i salute for everyone involved in the search and rescue effort either from indonesia side who pointed the location of the vessels , or the foreign entities who helped us in making the visual contact with the wreckage .
finding submarine wreckage in just a span of 5 days after it's loss is not an easy task , a previous incident may take month or even year .
RIP to the fallen
Unfortunately man I cannot imagine the pain they are going through. May Allah comfort them in this time of despair.
What a way to go they were just serving their duty for their country, their families and their honour.
Imagine being a husband and having kids while you dive underwater. Cannot imagine the thing that comes to your mind is being with them especially at the end of Ramadan when you look forward to spending time with them.
I hope this leads to a proper drive to modernisation of the Indonesian Armed forces. I hope lessons are learnt from this tragedy. Also these lessons will be learnt by everybody around the world about the dangers of being in a Submarine.
Modern day submarines are safe compared to the past but still anything can go wrong.
