Babcock's Type 31 frigate for Royal Navy will use NS110. Wonder which one is more advance, NS200 or NS110?
NS200 has more coverage range than the NS100-series (maximum advertised range is 400KM), tho I wish MoD and Navy choose Thales SeaMaster 400 fixed-array radar instead.

thank god they revert back to Tacticos, we need to have a common CMS on all surface combatants.
And damn they have downgraded to rotating radar instead from a fixed one.
If they are going for Thales at least they should go for proven APAR + Smart-L Combo.
It smells like they have tried to make choices aiming a fixed budget, not aiming certain capabilities thus increase of the price on CMS and other Thales sensors forced main radar to be downgraded.

In these open internet age that downgrading move are tantamount to a suicide be politically or tactically . So i won't cross my finger as yet ...
Nobody is an idiot these days ...

having four radars attached to a single ship is considered a luxury for us I think, better to spread them out in multiple ships in a rotator mode. the earlier spec using 4 fixed radar wouldn't give us much advantage consider that we only opt for VL-MICA back then.

wdyt?

There will be Aster missiles, despite of having active-seeker they could benefit from simultaneous illumination to different targets in mid-course quidance and bonus for upgrading easily to a ABM Ship (Aster-30 NT etc) thanks to the SMART-L. (Sounds better considering the possible threat up in north)
I don't think it was ever going to be fully equipped with VL-MICA but it was just a rumor in the internet implying amount of missiles which can be fit into the VLS (32 cells).
Now the ship will rely on illumination radars or GPS -INS based mid-course for AAW.
It is a good choice if it became a General purpose frigate. Bad choice if they are still calling it an AAW frigate.

if the Aster turns out to be Aster 15, the combination of Aster 15 and NS 200 will provide the two Iver hulls a capabilities similar to RSN's Formidable?

Well at least they improve the SAM being used from MICA to Aster family, as IMHO I do not think we ever aim to have a dedicated AAW Frigate like Hobart or aquitaine

Some wild speculation running around related to navy procurement lately.

btw there are already many denials about Alman tweet....some said it was just "kabar angin" and Thales still trying to push their luck and we still prefer Leonardo configuration

Oo I thought that the formidable uses aster 30 too? And also personally I don't expect an aaw frigate. I expect a general/asw frigate.

here's my take, during last year exercise Bondo Yudho the Sigma 10514 are designated fleet air defense ship, and as we know Martadinata class uses rotating SMART-S MK2 radar, so maybe there's a slight difference on how TNI-AL classifies what's an AAW vessels.

Formidable class also use Aster 30
I wouldn't mind if China sells us their Type-071 LPD for a good price. 😁
Nah better avoid whatever they are offering to us.....it doesn't sounds right for me to buy weapons from your potential enemy
