Not accepting it not good either for our PR, they are throwing olive branch in the name of humanitarian efforts. Not to mention the feeling of families of our Sailor. It's not like they are roaming freely just like our close friend during Search effort, they only bring their vessels into designated coordinate. I am more into accepting their effort, but under close scrutiny of our forces
We out of option either ?

The location of 402 is already determined, and Indian Rescue vessel already in bali sea. Do we will salvage the remnants of the crew using dsrv ?

Although they come in the namd of SAR, i hope Navy still give them excort and proper corridor too.

Isn't this kinda suspicious? Do we ask their help? Do we REALLY need their help?
China has been generous

And how we will be able to recover the crew without lifting the boat❓The pressure is around 84 atm down there

Just realized it's a sale instead of hibah lel.

PC-40 is more than enough for this type of small patrol boats . If we're really into buying used foreign patrol boat, we should look at Australia's Armidale class, which will be decommissioned soon. While at the same time we could decommission our own Fasharkan PC-36 boats and ex RAN attack class boats which is old already.

Looks like PT Lundin plan to launch Klewang 2 in the next few months.

"Meanwhile, PT Lundin Industry Invest, as the 2nd generation stealth shipbuilder, has announced that in the next few months it will launch the ship that is currently still at its factory in Banyuwangi, East Java."

Maintenance? It could be caused by external factors such as getting heavily entangled in a fishing net etc.

Whats wrong with world class navy jargon? It means TNI AL want to become professional, good doctrine & strategy, good harwat, having advance and modern equipments etc they want to have a standard like those country with better standard than ours right now, its ok but spewing something like "Blue Water Navy"? Ngimpi disiang bolong at least for several decades ahead.

IMHO
i would rule out fishing net from the potential factors. Maintenance is definitely a major factor

PLAN would have a field day in mapping out the topography in Strait of Bali. Great way to provide free knowledge and information to your potential enemy

I really like how newsmaker quote from an "unknown source" to express their opinions strongly, now, i may even doubt if global times has such a part on the article; i am going to look for that. To be honest i don't trust any newsmaker nowadays.
From the original article he has posted:
Citing an unnamed Chinese submarine expert, the state-owned tabloid Global Times said the rescue mission could also help China “study the maritime military geography of the area where the submarine was wrecked, as well as expanding the international cooperation and influence of our navy in submarine rescue and salvage”.
Have scanned through global times on all nanggala related news and couldnt find any part as claimed. If anyone does, i will be pleased to be informed.

Checked both chinese and english versions of the global times, unfortunately i couldn't find any of the claims.

Nonetheless, i don't imply China wouldnt do that, in fact like any other navy which possibly may come to the region, they will collect as much as possible data to process later. (Such as ship's acoustic, IR, radar, RF signatures, anything related to the sea, bathymetry, temp-salinity whatever available to be recorded)

So cakra is on the water now, the maintenance and docking is quite fast for PT. PAL, regarding the shipyard is masih pemula buat bongkar bongkar isi kapal selam, the 401 is already too old to having harsh mission on the sea,

Would'nt it be wiser to convert her purpose as a submarine-training oriented mission not on patrolling to the deep water

istilahnya kerja lapangan kasihin aja ke yang muda muda, orang tua jadi pelatih aja

Looks like DSME is offering Indonesia the DSME 2000.

DSME 2000's Indicative Specifications

Drawn from Jane's Navy International and Naval News. Preliminary design work was completed by DSME in January 2019, but the final variant can be tailored (with varying specifications) according to customer requirements.

2,180 tonnes (submerged displacement)
71.1m long
6.5 m beam, diameter
single-hulled
20 knots (maximum submerged speed)
10 knots (maximum surface speed)
10,000 nautical miles at cruising speed

40 crew + 10 special forces or intelligence linguists/monitors
Lithium-ion batteries
[2+ diesel engines]
AC propulsion motor.
Lengthened version could incorporate an AIP plug
Incorporates a seven-mast configuration The masts suite includes optronic, radar, ESM, SATCOM, Snorkel and up to two communication hoistable masts. The sensor suite is based on Cylindrical Hydrophone Array, Intercept Detection and Ranging Sonar, Own Noise Analysis, Flank Array Sonar, Passive Ranging Sonar, Active Operation Sonar and Towed Array Sonar.
Flexible weapon launching system depending on customer requirements. Standard fitout can be 8 torpedo tubes with a total of 16 torpedoes/missiles/[UUVs] [or typically 32 mines].

Utilizes foreign technologies and local technologies developed for South Korea's KSS-III program.

this guy perhaps one of "battle proven" suppporters.

For me myself never koeran subs are giid despite git much flaws, especially when the price is cut to the bottom by Us.

This new concept sub strongly resemble type 214. Altough in first place i still prefer to choose German made sub or japan made sub whatever its type :v
