All calibers has their own min- max ranges and their own usages. Turkey currently can offer a broad range of artillery missiles in calibers of 107-122-230-300-600-610mm if Indonesia is interested. Also i don't think Turkey would hesitate to share know-how on small to medium diameters.

All of these, except 107, have guided (GPS) versions, some inherits a guidance from scratch, some has guidance kits available, and SAL guidance is becoming available for all. (also IIR, MMW and Active Radar seeker is expected)

Erdogan is reported to visit Indonesia next year and both nation will try to make High Level Strategic Council that will discuss bilateral, regional, and global issue.

Can't argue it's a fact.

A good reminder that GDP alone is not a good, definitive indicator of a nation's geopolitical potential. Taiwan's GDP is smaller than Indonesia's by all available methods of measurement.

South Korea's GDP is smaller than Indonesia's by one commonly used method of measurement, the method of Purchasing Power Parity or PPP. However, South Korea's GDP is larger than Indonesia's by another commonly used method of measurement, the method of market exchange rates.

In both of these cases, as you have so graciously accepted, aggregate economic output measured by GDP plays little to no role in helping Indonesia surpass Taiwan and/or South Korea in industrial might, sophistication of industry, advancement in technologies or progress in scientific discoveries. As a consequence, it can be argued that both Taiwan and South Korea maintain armed forces that are orders of magnitude superior to that maintained by the Republic of Indonesia.

I believe those smaller countries of Taiwan and South Korea, the two biggest "Asian Tigers", present some successful models for our Indonesian brothers and sisters to learn from and follow.

Since you have quoted me multiple times, I have compiled all such quotes in one post for ease of readability. I hope you would not object to this practice.

Omedata electronics and Astra microtonics technology they were manufactured ICs and Chipsets

All the evidence points to the contrary.

No company, domestically owned or foreign owned, ever manufactured IC on a commercial basis in Indonesia.

LOL.....Omedata electronics located in Bandung
...........Sumco located in Bekasi

I went back to take a look at my comment.

It was observed that my comment contained these two nuggets of information, provided by you.

Chip Industry Acquisition

By Dow Jones

  • Sept. 15, 1998

Newbridge Asia said yesterday that it had agreed to acquire P.T. Astra Microtronics Technology, a provider of subcontract-assembly and test services to the computer chip industry, from Astra Graphia-Information Technology Group for $90 million. P.T. Astra has offices in Pleasanton, Calif., and Batam Island, Indonesia. Newbridge, a private equity firm, is a unit of Texas Pacific Group and Richard C. Blum & Associates. Texas Pacific, based in Fort Worth, is an investment group.

Unisem to close Batam plant due to losses

Friday, 28 Jun 2019

KUALA LUMPUR: Unisem (M) Bhd is closing its facility in Batam, Indonesia due to persistent losses since 2011.
"The management will be working in phases to scale back the operations ahead of closing the facility in PT Unisem effective Sept 30, 2019," it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

Unisem’s factory in Batam is a one stop shop facility, which provides wafer probe, wafer backgrinding, assembly packaging, final test, and drop shipment.
The company assembles and tests leaded and array packages on a high volume basis in the 345,000 square feet facility in Batam.

Omedata Electronics Bandung Indonesia
Founded in 1974 as an OEM subsidiary of National Semiconductor, Omedata Electronics with more than 25 years of continuous improvement, growth and innovation has become an established semiconductor Assembly and Test subcontractor. And since 1986, when we changed the ownership becoming a joint venture between Indonesian and Singaporean entities, Omedata Electronics has been providing One Stop Services to the world leading semiconductor companies.

I have emboldened the relevant parts. The parts in bold should help you read and, I hope, comprehend what you have so far failed to understand.

LOL these countries you mentioned ( Turkey, Egypt, Iran, Pakistan or Saudi Arabia in industrial & technological ) even don't have Semiconductors industry till now

The five countries in question are, arguably, the five strongest military powers in the wider "Muslim world". Countries like Indonesia, Bangladesh, Nigeria or Malaysia do not fit in. That is despite Malaysia possessing the only commercial wafer fabs, or semiconductor wafer foundries, in the wider "Muslim world".

Indonesia never did, and still does not, possess any commercial wafer fabs.

There are/were both foreign owned and domestically owned commercial wafer fabs in Malaysia. The domestic company in question, in Malaysia, is the government owned SilTerra. The foreign companies in question are easy to name but I would avoid doing so for the time being since the discussion does not involve those foreign Multi National Corporations.

Astra Completes Sale Of Its Electronics Unit

a Wall Street Journal Staff Reporter
Dec. 4, 1998 12:24 am ET

SINGAPORE -- The sale of a PT Astra Indonesia electronics unit to a U.S.-owned investment fund, one of the first sales by a debt-ridden Indonesian group, has been completed.
An Astra executive and CIBC World Markets, its advisers, said all documentation for the $90 million sale to Newbridge Capital Asia was completed Wednesday in Jakarta. "The deal is done and the payment will be made shortly," the Astra executive said.
In the transaction, first agreed to in September, Astra sold PT Astra Microtronics Technology, an integrated circuit assembly and test subcontractor on Batam Island, about 20 kilometers from Singapore.
Newbridge is mostly owned by two U.S. private investors, Texas Pacific Group and Richard C. Blum & Associates of San Francisco. Newbridge manages more than $8 billion.

The part in bold should be easy enough to comprehend leaving no room for misunderstandings or confusions.

Microchips cut and tested at the Batam factory go into handphones, personal computers and television remote controllers. Newbridge, without citing figures, said that Astra Microtronics' revenue has increased 30% a year over the past three years.

Routine task for any outsourced assembly and test (OSAT) facility.

in September 1998, a TPG affiliate that invests in Asian companies-called Newbridge Asia-bought PT Astra Microtronics Technology , a chip assembly and testing contractor near Singapore. Turns out that Astra “has among its customers, just by chance, both Zilog and Motorola,” says Coulter. Although the relationship was purely coincidental, “it sure made the due diligence easier,” he notes.

I believe the part in bold is clear and easy to see and understand.

Repetition of earlier quotes.

It was/is an Assembly and Test facility.

For the sake of clarity, I have uploaded the following image. I hope you and other members can read and comprehend it easily. If not, you may ask again for guidance.

P.S. For the benefit of members and anonymous readers, I have uploaded another version of the image. Hopefully, this will leave little room for miscommunication and doubt.

N219 aircraft produced by LAPAN, PTDI secures Type Certificate

Bandung, West Java (ANTARA) - Indonesia-made N219 aircraft, produced by aircraft manufacturer PTDI in cooperation with the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN), completed series of certification tests and officially secured a Type Certificate at the end of 2020.

The Type Certificate was issued by the civil airworthiness authority, Directorate of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operation (DKPPU) at the Ministry of Transportation.

"The first Prototype Design 1 of N219 Nurtanio has clocked 250 flight cycles and 275 flight hours, while the second Prototype Design 2 completed 143 flight cycles and 176 flight hours. In total, the N219 aircraft completed 393 flight cycles and 451 flight hours during this certification process," Director of Technology and Development of PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) Gita Amperiawan stated here on Monday.

Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi bore witness to the N219 Type Certificate being handed over by Secretary of the Directorate General of Air Transportation Nur Isnin Istiartono to PTDI President Director Elfien Goentoro in Jakarta. "The certification process is the most important one to ensure security and safety on account of the fact that the aircraft’s services will be availed by users and the general public in future," he stated.

In connection with the DKPPU test results, the N219 aircraft was declared to have met the CASR Part 23 (Airworthiness Standards for Aeroplanes in the Normal, Utility, Acrobatic, or Commuter Category).

Manufacturing of the N219 aircraft began in 2014 for the design and application phase of the Type Certificate followed by the manufacture of the first aircraft prototype in 2016 and the second aircraft prototype in 2017 along with the system integration process.

After obtaining the Type Certificate, the N219 will enter the commercialization stage in 2021.

PTDI President Director Elfien Goentoro affirmed that the N219 is a matter of pride for Indonesia, as for the pioneering time, it has successfully completed the certification of aircraft that was entirely manufactured by Indonesians.

Petir missile Development budget

View attachment 10425

So we have two cruise missile program under development, this petir and the other is state owned consortium. I hope I can see the budget for the state owned one which I see as more promising since they will be backed by established company like DI, Dahana and LEN. I think both program propulsion system will be handled by the same source, which is a jet engine development program from one of our state university.

The machine to produce it comes from Japan. Even China buy it from them. Having a company like this outside Japan is more about the ability to be part of supply chain rather than other thing.

It is feasible. Molten and liquid salt reactors have been around since the 1960s, just during cold war... research came to standstill and only now its picking up again.

It looks like Indonesia is interested in U-233 route given there is mention of thorium here.

Thorium itself is not fissile....and I am assuming Thorium salt or mixture (with Uranium salt) is being proposed.

Having a few prototypes will give idea of the economics for next scaling.

That's how India is doing it with its 3-step nuclear power program that also plans to use U-233. There could be cooperation on that with Indonesia down the road depending how this goes.

Could you elaborate?

I am not able to capture the meaning of your text.

Could you try explaining in simpler and more elaborate terms what you want to say, or write?
