Truthfully if given enough money and fixed order this thing were still within the realm of our capability . Not in the economical prices for a while mind you but still within the tolerances of acceptance ... What could i say ... That's is the price of skills and know how self reliances .

And that is why i always emphasized on when we going to licenzed a Howitzer or cannon system . Because if we are starting to tread on that path we will open a whole new lot of essential metalurgic ecosystem that only benefitted us in the long run

Raw material, it is Krakatau Steel and other Indonesian steel companies responsibility, not Pindad. But recently Krakatau Steel has promised to add more added value of its products, not just rely on making raw steel.

There should be import substitution on supporting goods to bring down our import value since it is the largest component of our total imports. Of course it should be made economical and can compete with the imported ones to make our overall industry competitiveness is not decreasing once we use our domestic supporting goods.

It needs time, the industry cannot competitive at an early start if domestic demand is not large enough to support them, particularly with previous WTO deal and in coming RCEP implementation that makes domestic industry need to compete with imported goods that have already been benefited from their business economic of scale.

"Towards the close of 2020, we have successfully completed the steel pipe order with special specifications from the HMAS Coonwara Australia project," said Director of PT KHI Pipe Industries Utomo Nugroho, quoted from Antara, Thursday (24/12/2020). HMAS Coonawarra is an Australian Navy base located in the Northern Territory of Darwin City.

Utomo explained that the company had successfully completed the work with the special specifications of BS EN 10219 S355JO, namely the thickness and dimensions that were at the maximum engine capacity limit.

This project, with a total value of US $ 3.8 million (nearly Rp. 54 billion), explained Nugroho, was successfully completed on time since its initial delivery in November 2020.

"This is an achievement for us even though KHI is in a difficult position due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In our prognosis at the end of the year we can still book a positive profit of nearly US $ 7.7 million or an increase of 129 percent," said Utomo.

To be honest i was rather let BBI who handing this advanced forgery and foundry smithing process rather than KS . Let KS doing the hulu of steel making and the rest of SOE taking care their spesific tailored metal afterprocessing phase . It faster , cheaper and put the egg in the different basket for redudancy .

I would trying to asking them first if it okay to be published on open forum, but Made no mistake just like i said before , UK , Germany and Israel is for the material used for barrel and Chamber house, Canadian for the receiver, Korean for the Brass casing in munition, France for propellant and so on... they all sourced from local importer supplier agency companies. Oh i know that since ... Say , a 20 years back . That really put me a damp in my " Bambu runtjing " moment
It's common practice for foreign agents using local frontman as a window shopping case rather than directly investing the proper manufacturing complexes and it was encouraged by their authority too . Not to mention long term dependency and means of control it also more profitable for them in the long run . While i commend some of habibie's efforts even creating a healthy manufacturing environment were obviously too long , too pricey and too much for his plate i guess ..

I dont think this car has already been in the market. It will likely still CBU and should get high duty import. SMK should also get high duty import as they dont even have assembling facility. if the current government put them as national car brand with low tax then it can become big corruption case. They should be careful. SMK I believe cannot compete with that high duty import and probably is already bankrupt now.

Pindad is clever to seek niche market first for their Maung car. We cannot compete with Japanese/Korean cars directly, must seek niche market to let the company production line grow first. Pindad also has already made Electric motor for train and used in PT INKA Railbus.

The electric bus made by Moeldoko company should also be checked whether it is Chinese or Indonesian. There are three companies competing in current Jakarta administration electric bus tender. Moeldoko, Bakrie, and PT INKA. Bakrie will use Chinese bus. I think if Moeldoko also use Chinese bus then the tender winner should be given to PT INKA to help growing our manufacturing industry.
