Newbie here ...My cousin said chip design can be done personally but in order to be efficient the production should be really massive. He said to me for few production we can use FPGA.

There is one private company in Batam known as IC or chip manufacturer and initially owned by Astra then sold to other investor from outside. I think that is the most complex we have even it is only the IC factory. It is used to be big and good company, but the competition is very tough, and now is on their downturn time.
And fot the most advance one, which is the wafer fab that designs and produces the chips, we don’t have it in Indonesia until now.
