He was a very nice friend of mine, still dont know why he disappeared.
If anyone knows a way to get in touch with him, I will do the honours. He was always very good to chat with.

I really liked him too,but turned out to be a false flagger from south east asia. Used google translation to Japanese, posted pictures of "him" but have been debunked etc.

Who knows friend. He posted a picture of a quite old chubby Japanese guy claiming to be him but it was debunked by someone and so he came back with pictures of a younger asian looking man,but debunked too later.

Turned out his Japanese skill was awful, used google translation, when you asked him for a Japanese translation,he was nowhere to be seen.... When he joined he was so anti China and then out of nowhere became China friendly, you can change opinions of course, but it's quite weird really.

It is said he's still on a certain forum but under another identity. (Although there are doubts)

Most likely another troll account created to start troll wars between hostile nations so internet traffic(money from ads) would increase.

Well, Indonesian member who knows Japanese said so, but I believe there are tons Japanese born in US that could not speak Japanese fluently. My cousins who are born in US cannot speak Indonesian fluently either despite their parent have tried to use Indonesian language at home. I always use English to communicate with them, only very easy command language that they understand like "dont" "like" and so on

Any way, I have a question here. Do people in the West still read News in print version or already entirely online ??

General news I find most people just read online completely.

I subscribe to a couple printed periodicals for technical related matters...thats about it.

Yup he is and there is his wife as well that according to many member is the same person , LoL that two guys have similar style, funny and very intellectual, we can see on how he/she writes and in many occasions writes very thoroughly.

What are the account names now? I have lost track, when I go browse PDF (about once a week) its just to read a cpl trollwars or flamewars thats about it.

Yeah svensvensonov...he had like 3 - 4 accounts, maybe more, because he would forget his old account or need to scrap it due to secrecy of his "moving around" defence job.

Interesting but somewhat weird dude. Maybe it was a chick, who knows. He/she knew a lot of info though only a defence professional would....definitely credible.

I always found there could be a connection to that norwegian girl that had 3+ accounts too....always with the invader zim DP....forgot her name (fox something), she was ex-norwegian army and was rearing a kid supposedly...and then went totally AWOL everywhere online as far as I know....probably got tired of the BS and had the kid growing up to rather focus time on.

Yes I remember that person. He/she claimed at first to be of Swedish heritage and living in the US. I could only confirm he/she was from Virginia (due to being a moderator on another defence forum he/she was member in).

Then came back with so many accounts I lost track with. Some claiming to be Swedish and living in Sweden, some of a Norwegian living in Norway..... another claiming to be an Icelandic living in Norway and so on....

But it is/was the same person again and again. But his/her posts were always of good quality,it was a pleasure reading them. Some people are truly fascinating....

Thanks, I think print media will be death soon. With this pandemic thing, the transition from print to online will be just accelerated in my opinion for some countries which still have good amount of print media readership.

Indonesia will also improve its 4 G connections to the rest of villages that havent received 4 G yet, but the overall internet penetration is quite good IMO since I found some one living in the Kalimantan jungle still can have internet connection.

I think he/she is not in PDF anymore since I am active in PDF once more. I was not active during 2016-2017 period. In PDF we will still find many Chinese members, some how as Indonesian we still want to track their news, whether related to economy or technology. For very recent development, @Vivaviet just run amok against China after getting release from ban and keep posting about 600 millions jobless Chinese

Pakistani and Turkish are brotherly countries for Indonesians, so I think I want to be active in both forums. As internet penetration getting deeper which is then followed with growing GDP percapita among developing nations, I am quite optimistic about both forums future outlook. Quora for example has become another phenomenon, but it lacks the ability to create conversation and emotional bound among the members there, relatively the conversation only happen to discuss some topic/issues. This is where forum like this can still find some relevance to exist and grow.

He is the best poster on PDF by far lol. The guy is relentless.

Yup, I think he has become some kind of icon in PDF, any popular forum should have some kind of entertainment by the way he he.

Any way Vietnam gov has made a revision on their GDP calculation with the assistance of IMF and UN experts, and we have seen huge 25 % increase in both of their total and percapita GDP. Its GDP per-capita now has passed 3000 USD threshold. It is getting closer to Indonesia now in term of per-capita basis.

Indonesia alhamdulillah has passed the controversial Omnibus Law. It is necessary to make us stay competitive in the East Asian region, particularly after the upcoming East Asian FTA. I have some sort of optimism that Indonesia can possibly reach 6-7 percent economic growth in post pandemic period if our Constitutional Court doesnt block the implementation of Omnibus Law (labor union requested the body to cancel the law).

I also think Indonesia has capability to grow further its modern service sector and compete world wide. In the beginning, modern service sector in here is lead by foreign companies like in financial and advertising services, but later many Indonesian professionals who used to work in that foreign companies start making their own service companies (usually make a join force with their fellow Indonesian colleagues) and compete their former employers in our domestic market.

The combination of manufacturing and service sectors that in my opinion can possibly make my country keep maintaining its lead in GDP per-capita over Vietnam for at least another one or two decades. It will be hard if we only rely on manufacturing sectors, particularly by seeing the labor cost in here keep increasing in yearly basis (in exception of next year due to pandemic), something that can be more manageable in the non-democracy country like Vietnam.

It is really the constant dollar GDP and PPP that matters in the end....as nominal current dollar can include inflation that does not transmit to the actual economy.

We will have to see if those (constant$ + PPP) are impacted by the revision in Vietnam case.

Indonesia also follows the better set of standards - SDDS.

Vietnam still use GDDS. When Vietnam joins/reforms to SDDS standard, it will achieve more credibility to be compared to Indonesia.

Any country in the below 10k per capita mark all have clear road to improve and set good growth rates (manufacturing, industry, services based and labour movement and productivity to there and investment given)

...the model is not difficult to conceptualise and understand, but the challenges lie in implementation.

Omnibus bill looks good in general, hopefully it helps Indonesia become more business friendly.

I wouldn't worry too much about increased labour costs because of democracy, that is the operating conditions of the worker transmitting to the free market. That is a good thing, it puts pressure on the govt to reduce costs of business that is under its control. People do need to also benefit and become wealthier, remember their increased wages also support other jobs and sectors through multiplier effect.
