Russia may start using the new 2S40 Phlox rapid-fire self-propelled guns. The 2S40 Floks 120-mm self-propelled artillery gun is mounted on the Ural-4320VV chassis and was first shown in 2016. The self-propelled gun is equipped with a gun developed on the basis of 2A80 from self-propelled guns 2S31 "Vena", this gun combines the main qualities of guns, howitzers and mortars, which allows the use of various ammunition, including foreign production. The gun is equipped with a modern recoil system. This solution, together with modern electronics, can reduce the time to fire to 20 seconds. The self-propelled guns weighing 20 tons are armored and protect the crew from bullets and an explosion of up to 5 kg of TNT. ACS "Floks" is equipped with a modern digital weapon-computer system, which is able to perform many tasks in automatic mode. Real-time information is sent to the crew monitors in the cockpit, which allows you to quickly respond to the situation. ACS can exchange data with other machines and store up to 30 targets in memory at the same time, working on them one by one. The 2S40 gun is the fastest firing in the world in its caliber, the rate of fire of the Phlox self-propelled guns reaches 10 rounds per minute. There are 28 shells in the automated ammunition rack of the self-propelled guns and 52 are in conventional stacks. The ACS is equipped with a system for detecting laser irradiation and setting smoke screens. The installation is equipped with a remotely controlled combat module with a Kord machine gun of 12.7 mm caliber. The firing range of the self-propelled guns is up to 13 km, the crew of the vehicle is 4 people.

In Russia, tests of the new self-propelled artillery gun 2S43 "Malva" have been completed, the self-propelled guns will soon begin to enter the troops. The self-propelled guns "Malva" were first shown in 2019, after which its testing and design refinement began. The self-propelled guns are placed on the BAZ-6010-027 chassis and have a gross weight of 32 tons. The Malva self-propelled guns use the 152-mm 2A64 rifled howitzer, borrowed from the 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled guns. The gun has a barrel length of 47 calibers, this is 7170 mm. After the first display of the self-propelled guns, many had a question why they made a new clone of the Msta-S self-propelled guns. The fact is that, in the conditions of modern wars, mobility has become important, self-propelled guns now fire for a short time and change positions. Thanks to its lightweight design, the self-propelled guns quickly change position and are easier to transport by aircraft. With the introduction of the wheeled chassis, the self-propelled guns became more technologically advanced and cheaper to manufacture and operate. Ammunition self-propelled guns "Malva" 30 shots of separate-sleeve loading, it is transported in boxes on the installation. Charging of shells and shells is carried out manually by a crew of 5 people. The rate of fire of self-propelled guns is 7 rounds per minute. The maximum firing range is up to 29 km. 470 hp motor provides self-propelled guns "Malva" with a maximum speed of up to 90 km per hour. Power reserve - 1000 km.

In Russia, they are increasing the production of the modernized self-propelled guns "Msta-SM2". The upgraded 2S33 self-propelled guns have significant design differences, a new automated fire control system is installed on it, and the aimed rate of fire has been increased to more than 10 rounds per minute. The use of digital electronic maps significantly accelerated orientation on the ground and increased the speed of deploying the gun in position by 2 times. Thanks to the modernization of the self-propelled guns, the Msta-SM2 can easily be aimed at targets that receive data from the UAV. The new automatic fire control system increased the guidance speed by 1.5 times. The self-propelled guns now have the "simultaneous fire attack" function, when several self-propelled guns fire at once from different positions. SAU 2S33 is equipped with a 2A65 152-mm gun. The howitzer is equipped with a programmable loading system and can fire high-explosive fragmentation, active-rocket jammers, as well as Krasnopol high-precision guided munitions at a distance of up to 29 km. Ammunition ACS 50 shells. ACS "Msta-SM2" develops speed up to 60 km/h and has a cruising range of more than 600 km.

Russian units of the Airborne Forces began to receive a system for uninterrupted supply of the Scorpion machine-gun belt for 550 rounds. The Scorpion ammunition system was developed by FRONT-tactical systems and began to be delivered to the troops on order in 2015. "Scorpion" is equipped with an easy-to-handle sleeve for supplying non-loose metal tape, which allows continuous fire from weapons in any position. The Scorpion ammunition supply system is designed for the 7.62 x54 R cartridge. If requests are received, the flexible sleeve of the ammunition supply system can also be developed to supply 30-mm grenades for the corresponding weapon. The mass of the entire complex is 21.8 kg. It includes: a backpack, a box, a feed sleeve and an ammunition load of 550 rounds. It is possible to use a box for 1000 rounds. Despite all the high marks of specialists, the Ministry of Defense is not yet buying this complex en masse. According to some estimates, in Russia now this complex is used in more than 150 different units of the special operations forces. The price of the complex is about 95 thousand rubles or 1100 dollars.
