I remember back then it was noted for its cost effectiveness. And indeed it’s dime a dozen. And I’m all for it.
But these are the only tracked ACV units in our inventory and no matter how dirt cheap it might be, these will be the ones to be taken to the hot conflict zone and they still lack a solid punch. In modern warfare 25mm is only good enough to scratch the surface.
IMO, TSK knows that around the corner is a big purchase of brand new AFVs that will fight alongside the Altay, so they are not wasting too much money on these.

Alright guys. I’m convinced and hope for better now.
this will only be a dirt cheap stop gap solution with enhanced optical and electro optical capabilities - only to be replaced within a decade, though 😉

2400+ vehicles to be procured. 2200 ACVs to be replaced, 650 of them AFV variants. It'll take more than a decade to complete this program lol. These modded ones would probably be donated to allies or sold on the cheap later on.

Yeah, the major one, like I said. All I hope is that tracked AFV to carry a large caliber cannon. I am not really much concerned about they put manned or unmanned turrets as much as the gun now.

If this is the old ACV that is going to be updated, then I think it's ok to give it at least a better punch. (Is that a hatch in the front to look out of ?)

On a second note, how difficult would be to turn these into unmanned support vessels ? Perhaps the enemy would have to use NLAW to take out these....

YNZMA vehicles will have the 35mm Korhan turret both for tracked and wheeled AFVs.

As far as I understand it, it's a single vehicle with Yener mine detection system. Still a milestone tho.

No info at all on the YN ZMA program. I remember reading about the first phase of testing being started few months ago.

I get that feeling all companies like Otokar, FNSS and BMC are involved. Still waiting IFV decision (Tulpar!).

As this will be a giant order and important decision TSK is most probably waiting for national powerpack that will be integrated into those.

In my opinion, the SSB should take control here and authorise the Powerpack, which they have long funded, to be used fairly among all candidates, thus forcing the developer/producer to provide integration studies and technical documents fairly, regardless of affiliation. You all know who I am talking about.
