But why are our officials then still working with Cockerill ? it doesn't make sense that you would promote someone elses products this much ?
FNSS and Otokar are private entities, not our officials. They exist to make money.

I forgot about that, I guess it's due to us being embargoed for so long, that it's become difficult to differentiate when it's Türkiye and not.

I would expect that domestic version 105mm be developed and tested and hopefully battleproven, then use it to replace the cockerill. Then similar with others... 120mm barrels/turrets

But why aren't we making something of Cockerills level and trying to reach the same quality. As long as the quality is the same we can work on better products by adhering to higher quality standards.

I know it's not easy, but I hope at least there are dedicated R&D for that. Kaplan MT is imo bloody awesome.
-Bro in fact as we know KAPLAN is tailor made for the customer while a specific enivornment in mind (30 ton) ... we may never need KAPLAN class tanks.

-Yet there is a sizable market for wheeled and tracked light tanks I totally agree that at least we have to have several options and with indigenous turret(s)

-M60A3 can easly be considered a medium tank (eventhough it is kind of an old terminology) around (50 ton) I dont know why I am writing this

- However in abroad for ROKETSAN MZK 15.000 M60 and 25.000 T 72 may provide better opportunities... in addition to known domestic need most probably that is why the focus was on MZK first

⚡️ Silence and power together: Our Hybrid Armored Combat Vehicle #DAĞHAN !

The leading force of modern battlefields with its high maneuverability, silent operation and durability! 🇹🇷

The day we finally move away from M113 type vehicles we as Turkish defence enthusiast should get together and sacrifice 113 something. I don't know what. Maybe TSK can give us M113s to sacrifice. I just want to see the back of this box on wheels.

This is not an M113. Similarly, many other vehicles that resemble the M113 are also not M113s.

We now have 4-5 different military vehicle producers. Has the Turkish Ministry of Defense held any tenders where multiple military vehicles compete and the best one wins the contract with local suppliers? If not, why do some firms get the contracts while others do not?

Yes, YN-ZMA program will incur up to 3000 wheeled and tracked AFVs of more than 20 variants into the army.

Better question would be "what exactly is it?"

To clarify, I don't claim to know what Dağhan is actually supposed to be. But I recognize an ACV-19 running gear when I see one.

By the looks of it, APC? Like US army's AMPV.

I asked "did" you answered me "will". If other vehicles were procured politically, without competition, why should we believe Next-Gent ACV procurement will be different?

It is a brand new vehicle.
It isn't. At most, it's a testbed for MKE's hybrid powerpack. If it is anything else and they decide to give this shitbox on tracks to soldiers, it will mean a clear and cut case of CORRUPTION.

ACVs at the time were built by FNSS because FNSS was a joint venture with FMS. Altay tender on paper was fine. STA tender was made and FNSS was declared winner over Otokar.

That is why I wrote:

Let me clarify. If I took this vehicle and an M113 apart, they would look very similar even though MKE doesn't say anything about it, I bet this is just another aluminium death box. Just like M113 and vehicles derived from it are, such as FNSS's ZMA.

Edit: This is the firm MKE works with to make their electric/hybrid vehicles and this is the "Dağhan":

It is what it is, an R&D blackhole to fund some companies.

And if you have time review board of the companie, and their past affiliations. It is fun.
