We must hit them in Turkey. I don't understand why so much open support to terrorism possible nowadays

Unfortunately the names of pur martyrs are circulating again.

Do not share any information regarding this unless official confirmation exists. Yesterday one of the families of our martyrs learned for the martyrdom of their son from the social media.

MALE drones can't see in heavy dense fog and snow.

There are enough tools on hand to make these bases pretty much impenetrable. And the area around them into no go zones.

But we instead drop a handful of soldiers in an isolated area where they can‘t even get supplies regularly and expect everything to go smooth.

like I said, who will answer for this? No one. The Superpower of this world regularly disciplines its officers, yes even higher ranking ones but we are a country where responsibility is thrown on the almighty.

The ones suffering are ones again the poor people in their villages who can’t even afford to heat their crumbling homes.

This is another problem no one wants to mentions or deal with in the TSK. Discipline. Names getting leaked. Operation getting leaked. Positions getting leaked.

OPSEC anyone? Or do the higher ups think it’s just an option?

You have to hang those by the balls who gave the orders to deploy our soldiers on a hill that 1) doesn't offer a advantageous defence position, 2) close to a village sympathizing with PKK, 3) close to a PKK wartunnel... and if that's not enough they decided that our soldiers can stay longer in a outpost with literally no cover in Fall/Winter which is always very cloudy and the weather conditions really harsh.

12 confirmed neutralized terrorists of which 2 are captured alive. According to the official information 16 terrorists were neutralized.

The 2 captured terrorists are receiving exclusive hospitality right now.

Of course the idiots record it and post it to social media for another human rights penalty for torture, as well as internal disciplinary action.

First clean out the terrorists in the meclis, else I simply cannot believe our fight on terror has any seriousness in it.

Why the fck would they put soldiers in such areas in Northern Iraq where they are sitting ducks.

This is incompetence at its best.

We can put all the combined efforts of the armes forces but still its ground soldiers that have to yank the pkk out of these Mountains and Hills.

Stupid costly mistakes. I know soldiers will get killed this is war and we all know it. But there is also ways to minimise casualties.

Always treat soldiers to fight another day. Soldiers are not robots or unlimited manpower to be used by retarded politicians.

Moroccan soldiers are not allowed to carry their phones when they are on active duty. They are not even allowed to take photos of themselves, their camouflage, or their equipment. If an individual soldier commits an attempt then a harsh penalty is given close to the title "treason".

This reminds me the fiasco that happened in Syria when our tanks were sitting ducks in the open, waiting to be hit by ATGM’s. And unfortunately that’s what happened.

Third world military, no, but more like military or better put it as land forces that likes to underestimate the enemy, the safety guidelines and the weather conditions. A few years back a soldier froze to death and if not for the public reaction we would've seen situations like that even today.

The Turkish soldiers in the area of operations are always working at the top of their limits. The commanders are always pushing them to their limits forgetting that they are human and not terminators. Yes, the Turkish soldier is highly trained, very experienced, working hard in the worst of conditions without complaints, the equipment is not the best, but it is not bad too, but they are still human beings with their humanly limitations.

Underestimating the enemy is also a factor. Three days ago on the 21st, in 2016, Syria, we saw a similar story during the Operation Euphrates Shield and especially the Akil/Hospital hill fighting where 16 of our soldiers from the Special Forces Command and the 1st Commando Brigade (Kayseri) fell martyr due to a coordinated DEASH attack involving VBIEDS (armored car bombs).

The soldiers of the sprcial forces were forced to infiltrate and fight the whole night at that position with reports of 300+ terrorists neutralized. DEASH mobilized all its units from around Syria and started moving towards Al-Bab. Supporting elements moving to the position were hit. Tanks, APCs, IFVs, MRAPs were hit. Despite all the difficulties our soldiers endured till the morning where more reinforcements were sent. Reinforcements were also hit. At last most of them managed to sneak to the position. At that stage we gave 4 martyrs and 16 wounded already. Our soldiers numbers are small, the terrorists are well positioned, throwing everything they got on them. ATGMs, rockets, mortars, heavy weapons, everything. The commander on field warned the high command that DEASH is too strong there, but our high command told them to continue. They wanted the position to be reinforced, but were refused. No Air Force support was also present. At last the clashes stopped. Our soldiers saw a drone, called the command and told them that this is a common thing among DEASH and they are preparing something big, they want measures to be taken against VBIEDs, the command told them "nothing will happen, the terrorist are not so smart" and guess what happened. A VBIED hit the position, two big explosions happened after that. They fought a couple of hours more and managed to keep the position. Only 6 operational soldiers were left from the special forces unit. 12 martyrs and 20 wounded was the result of these hours. Our soldiers were besieged. FSA also abandoned their positions and left our soldiers alone. Only after these heavy hours the commanders decided that an F-16 must hit the terrorists so a corridor can be established in order for the wounded and martyrs to be evacuated. May Allah accept their martyrdom!

There are many stories like these like a unit forced to wait a helicopter evacuating a cat from a terrorist position where our soldiers are treated worse than animals etc.

While TSK took a lot of lessons from the Operation Euphrates Shield and the following operations, but there is something that is not changing. Overestimating our own force, treating soldiers worse than animals and underestimating the terrorist force.
