Mr Okumuş: "We are beyond range targets in both BOZDOĞAN and GÖKDOĞAN, they have capabilities that stand out from their counterparts. In one of the tests, the first air to air missile at supersonic speeds was launched within the scope of this project.

The second phase of the GÖKTUĞ Project; The first productions will start again this year, including their integration with different F-16 types and UAVs.

In the continuation of the project, we started the preliminary studies for the advanced configurations of BOZDOĞAN and GÖKDOĞAN. Capability gains such as longer range, more advanced data link, and warhead with directed reactive particles are on the way."

Great news! Will have the icing on the cake when they integrate the indigenous Aesa radars on our Ozgur F16s.

Mr. OKUMUŞ: "Works at GEZGİN continue very successfully, we have passed very important stages in the project. When the GEZGİN project is completed, a unique missile system with groundbreaking technologies such as GÖKHAN will emerge. We do not know where the Ukrainian process will go, but it has no effect on our project.”

For Turkey or world wide?

We have taken some really good steps in terms of all kinds of rockets, missiles and smart munitions. However, I guess we need 3 or 4 more years to be in the Champions League.

SPECIAL | A first in the history of the Turkish Air Force!

- For the first time, an air-to-air missile was fired at supersonic speed

- The aforementioned supersonic shot was carried out with a national air-to-air missile developed within the scope of the GÖKTUĞ Project.

It is nothing new. I already saw this video a few month ago.

Ibrahim Sunnetci had reported ,in 2021, that Ukrainian engine was not an option for Gezgin anymore. The engines for the prototypes are still of foreign origin, yet not Ukranian. Thus, Mr. Okumus had diverted the question by saying he has no idea on where the situation in Ukraine will lead to but the situation does not affect the development of the Gezgin.

Ibrahim Sunnetci also hints different profiles for the engine (domestic one) that it will have different mode and software for different platforms and flight altitudes.*

--Personal comment--
*Here we can easily sense, Gezgin will have surface launched, sub-launched, VLS launched versions as well as an anti-ship variant for long-range anti-surface duties.

I think maybe AKDOĞAN or a version of BOZDOĞAN will be used for helicopter platforms.”
A version of Bozdoğan, that is possibly the point defense missile variant, surface to air.
However Akdoğan will be offered as a low-cost missile possibly dueling Sungur-Naval / Sungur-ER with a data-link.

Probably a larger SOM (air launched cruise missile) based on Gezgin can be made for extended range, as there is no reason why not.

Possibly the last remarks in the latest part of the interview with Gürcan Okumuş, director of SAGE - Tubitak.

Tubitak is developing SeaRAM equivalent missile system with Aselsan. G40 project continues as a self-funded development project of SAGE as of now, and still has not been demanded by out-sources.

EDAS (Flexible VLS) continues as a self funded project, however there is a possibility of being out-sourced.

More to be added from the interview, there are informations related to SOM-J, KAYI-BOZOK PGM, PULAT-AKKOR etc.

I think the last 6 word portion of this statement is important.
We could not have fired an a2a missile whilst at supersonic speeds for the “first time”. Aim120 amraam missiles are supposed and designed to be fired from jets flying at supersonic speeds. So firing our indigenous a2a missiles at supersonic speeds is valid for “within the scope of this project”. So that is a feat that we have achieved too.
One must remember that, JDAM are also releasable at supersonic speeds. I hope our version, HGK are also capable of being released at supersonic speeds!

Tubitak Sage developing new mini munitions named Kayi, bigger brother of Bozok.
Two version in development, Kayi-30 and Kayi-50 (numbers likely denoting weights)
Range will be around 25km

Atmaca has a 280km range and with some weight optimizations and a new KTJ-3200 engine, Atmaca can reach 350km. French engine has security precautions to limit the range under 300km both in the software/FADEC and in the hardware.
