thats a ballistic missile...

4 different missiles ok...
The submarine launched one is really interesting! If MILDEN had something like that it would have been a nightmare for Greeks!

This is good, S.Korea was interested in SOM.
Som was introduced by Hanwha in the form of technical cooperation to participate in the mid-range AGM project. It was planned to introduce som-b2 as a technical cooperation. However, the project was suspended. The purpose of the project was for the FA-50 BLOCK2. If the project starts again, it will be a project for KF-21. But I'm not sure when it'll start again.

For now first MILDEN will not have VLS, but it will be able to fire GEZGIN cruisemissile.

I always have doubts about the credibility and the effectiveness (what usually claimed ) of subsonic low flying cruse missiles even if they have stealth characteristics!
And it is becoming clear day by day in ukraine conflict how vulnerable these subsonic cruise missiles are! even when it comes to fairly old and unsophisticated air defense systems equipped with old gen pesa radar and less maneuverable semi active interceptors.

( Ukraine air defense force success rate ( which is mostly consists of buks, kubs and s300 ) against these missile are roughly 60 percent which is lot considering ukraine didn't have any modern air defence from the beginning and they received the first\ nasam battery only last month and german IRIS T SLM is yet to come )

here are just few examples.
https://www.savunmasanayist.com/ukraynali-askerin-manpads-ile-seyir-fuzesi-dusurdugu-anlar/ T https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...ChAWegQIGhAB&usg=AOvVaw3JPMuKsjaYCW6sWcO0wia3 https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...FBAWegQICBAB&usg=AOvVaw3vGFzf_8G-pp8hRP1lZvRD https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...QQFnoECCkQAQ&usg=AOvVaw0SCHwqLpt0ezf2Et54umzk

so, anyone can estimate how bad these will perform against a state of art air defense system equipped with an aesa radar and EOTS and highly maneuverable modern interceptors equipped with active seeker or IIR seeker.

I think, ukraine war should be a worrying development for the air forces who's doctrine heavily relies on subsonic cruise missiles for deep strikes.

AND TURKEY IS CURRENTLY ONE OF THEM.
SO, THAT'S WHY I THINK TURKISH RAMJET MISSILES PROGRAMS HAS STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE AS IT WILL DIVERSIFY THE CURRENT ARSENAL AND WILL OFFER MORE FLEXIBILITY WITH THE COMBINATION OF SUPERSONIC AND SUBSONIC ELEMENTS.

After all, it seems SPEED does matter! And a supersonic cruise missile has better chance defeating AD than a subsonic one.

Note: this is just my personal opinion. Don't take it too seriously! And I am keen to hear your comments on this guys ! @Yasar @dBSPL
Turkiye use a different tactic, focus on cheap, small cruise missiles that could be fired in big numbers with the ones that going to have EW specific, which still could make huge issues to any air defense units. on the other hand, they produce Harop type kamikaze drones that could also go long distances. You dont always fight against the best enemies, lets say the Karabagh war or in Ukraine or in libya, cost of the missiles are also important, which is the whole reason cruise missiles are made and several times cheaper than ballistic missiles. On the other hand, Turkish sams and French sams are also designed against supersonic missiles, and France has proved its successful test. upgrading it doesnt mean you will have uper hand immediately until you get hypersonic.

In the Turkish unique concept, Turkiye simultaneously puts many attack systems into operation with enormous precision guidance technology. TAF will be among the few countries that can respond to a detected threat with multiple attack options. We are talking about a strike option that can communicate with each other, especially with precision guided cruise missiles and kamikaze drones and perform a saturation attack in swarm mode.

Apart from this, precision guided artillery missiles have been developed that can make a point attack in coordination with drones and can engage even a ship detected by the drone. In the Bora series, which are brothers of these artillery rockets, the range and the destructiveness of the warhead take Turkiye to another league.

Also soon, STM, Titra and others will introduce new kamikaze drone systems with short and medium range scale. Lentatek revealed long range Kargi anti radiation and kamikaze drone. TAI on the other hand, is developing a Şimsek based turbojet powered subsonic-supersonic kamikaze/decoy drone. They had tested current Şimşek variant in kamikaze mode as well.

Turkiye will soon make its own ramjet propelled missile revolution and will further increase the effectiveness of anti-ship, land attack, anti-radiation and BVR missiles.

Besides, Verification phase of ALCM SOM-C1 and C2 will be completed with firing trials in 2023 and deliveries will begin. These two missiles can be used against both land targets and sea targets thanks to their sea-skimming capability. I am sure that the damage that SOM C2 variant will cause to the enemy warship in sea-skimming mode with penetrating warhead will be tremendously devastating.

SOM-J anti-ship and land attack missile, as a variant that can be launched by drones, is the variant with lowest RCS among all SOM variants and composite material is used extensively in all SOM models.

For those who don't know, how sensitive are Turkish cruise missiles? It would be useful to watch a section from the latest tests of SOM.

When all these systems are put together, the picture that emerges reveals the deterrence of a tremendously coordinated and network-centric attack capability. Turkiye gain this capability that many Western countries will envy and that will scare eyes of some hostile people.

Mr Gürcan Okumuş: "We aim to conduct the firing tests of SOM missiles, in which national components will be used in 2023. In this way, the foreign dependency of SOM missile, which will have entirely national subsystems will be eliminated and ot will pave the way for export of SOM missiles to allied countries" @Defence Turkey
This is good news indeed , this means a storm shadow/SCALPE equivalent will hopefully be available for many countries who could not get the former for diplomatic or financial (mostly diplomatic ) reasons.

In Sakfor we had a conversation on rumours about it. As far as I remember it is 800-900 km range balistic missile.

Here there is a dialogue between prime minister erdoğan and chp mp adnan keskin. Erdoğan talked about a 800 km range balistic missile showing yıldırım missiles (most probabaly a confusion).

Sorry only newspapers source exist. Actually it is a bit weird. Normally we learn this kind of event from defence forum/ site. First time Türkiye conduct a test fire above 300 km away and we learn from newspaper. Acc. to range and time its speed above 4 mach. I wish, we can know payload weight also cep value but probably its not revealed very long time.

People has known about this but noone dared to speak a word. Looks like media was invited for the 'leak' too.

Damm! That's gonna scare the hell out of lot of adversaries!
Congratulations guys! That is an strategic achievement.

@Yasar any guess if it may have shaped trajectory and mid flight maneuverability along with the 550+ km range ?

That is an average of 3.6mach speed.
This sounds like the missile what @Cabatli_TR was mentioning 2-3 years ago regarding a 500+ km range Bora2 that would hit moving sea targets. I guess they made such modifications and alterations to that missile so as to warrant a new name.
This would hit targets in Adriatic Sea.
If placed in Cyprus it would hit targets in Alexandria. No surface vessels will be safe in Eastern Mediterranean and in seas around Greece.
