Welcome back.First of all I am back!
I have a question. We now know for sure that YALMAN weapons station is actively used at the border with Syria.
Yalman entered inventory within the STA project or it is separate one? How many will be delivered?
Very good decision! Judging by the recent conventional conflicts it is understood that anti-tank weapons systems are one of the most intensely used systems which is also maybe more than 80% effective in what the system's objective is. One ATGM fire means over 80% chance of a destroyed tank or even more expensive and sophisticated equipment. It is also proven effective against infantry targets so very good decision. *Impatiently waiting for KaraokTürkiye's critical decision on anti-tank missile production
Türkiye'den tanksavar füze üretimi için kritik karar
Türkiye, tanksavar füze üretimini iki katına arttırma kararı aldı. Bu amaçla Türk savunma sanayii bünyesinde, yeni tesis inşası devam ediyor.www.savunmasanayist.com
Türkiye decided to double its anti-tank missile production. For this purpose, the construction of new facilities continues within the Turkish defense industry.
UMTAS, L-UMTAS and OMTAS Anti-Tank Missiles developed by Roketsan are actively used by both the Turkish Armed Forces and friendly countries. Due to ever-increasing demands and in order to meet the needs as soon as possible, it was decided to approximately double the production infrastructure capacity of anti-tank missiles.
In this context, activities have begun to establish a new facility within Roketsan, which will approximately double the mass production infrastructure capacity. On the other hand, in addition to anti-tank missiles, it was decided to increase the production capacity of MAM-L, MAM-T and MAM-C ammunition used by UCAVs.
We only have 5 Yalmans in service. I think they were a small mixmash program to give standoff capability for frontline units and are separate from the STA program which I think is now complete? As they used American made FLIRs, more couldn’t be made. After Aselsan’s latest news more are expected soon.First of all I am back!

Developed by ROKETSAN and integrated into the FNSS KAPLAN-10 STA, the YALMAN gun turret proved itself in the field. In the post of the TR Ministry of National Defense regarding the response to the attacks on Karakamış district and Köprübatı Border Post, it is seen that shooting was made from the YALMAN weapon tower with mast-mounted electro optics targeting. While it is not clear which missile was used, it is considered to be a UMTAS missile because it hit the target from above (top-attack) in the final stage. YALMAN can use UMTAS, L-UMTAS, OMTAS and CİRİT missiles.
Few months ago in one of TSK’s Twitter posts about striking PKK targets in Syria we saw it fire and hit its target.I don't remember seeing a post about this, but apparently it has proven itself.
Something handheld if they go by the same naming scheme as Mete.TIMUR missile is coming from ROKETSAN. What can it be?
TIMUR should be the name of a big Nuke.Something handheld if they go by the same naming scheme as Mete.
Giving tiny missiles larger than figures’ names is dumb i think.
Or is it the modern day Turkish champion archer Mete Gazoz it was named after.Something handheld if they go by the same naming scheme as Mete.
Giving tiny missiles larger than life figures’ names is dumb i think.
I would hope they revived/improved CIDA project,it looked quite promising,or something similar to KARAOK with air burst or thermobaric missile.Something handheld if they go by the same naming scheme as Mete.

I remember CIDA was introduced as a solution for urban warfare. I personally think that it is to heavy and the operation would be to complicated for such a dynamic environment. I had the hope that TSK will purchase national made, modified Carl Gustaf recoilless rifles fine tuned according to TSK's requirements. The M4 variant for example weights only 6.6kg and packs a very serious punch including extremely simple operation. Programmable munition and also laser guided munition is available right now. The laser guided variant has ~2000m range and capability to hit moving targets. I think it combines ease of operation with capabilities of using modern smart munitions when needed.I would hope they revived/improved CIDA project,it looked quite promising,or something similar to KARAOK with air burst or thermobaric missile.
It's a popular concept considering more and more countries are working on similar type weapons Germany(Enforcer),Poland(Pirate) and Serbia just to name a few.
