Am I wrong or do we also have 30mm smart munition ?
Our 30mm Smash, Gökdeniz would become alot more attractive if that’s the case :)
35mm but anyway getting into smart ammo was a great move for turkey? Also extremly smart or lucky to have gotten 35mm weapon technology from the swiss. That caliber is perfect for dual use (air defense and IFV's) I think all that turkey needs right now is a 35mm apfsds round, Mkek should probably be tasked for its development.

Ismail Demir: Both TUBITAK SAGE and ROKETSAN work in coordination for RamJet engine. When the first test takes place, the good news will be announced to the public."

35mm is a munition,
Correct me if i am wrong but 40mm was derived from 40mm grenade thus has less range.
And 30mm ATOM may not exist.

There should be a difference between the munition used in SMASH and Gökdeniz too. One of them using munition (30x173), the other one is a shell (35x387).

Aselsan has already introduced single cannon 35mm multi-purpose weapon system that occupies as little space as SMASH. It uses one of the 35mm barrel with 550 round per min and capable of firing smart munition.

Turkey didn't get 35mm technology from Switzerland. We only produced gun barrel of Korkut under license.35mm ATOM ammo is produced by ASELSAN and TÜBİTAK

Yes but the 35mm barrel production was received from the swiss

Atmaca is going to be a big game changer in the Aegean Sea.
It can go round an island and hit it’s target that is on the other side of the island. With it’s “super sea skimming” capability, Atmaca can stealthily approach a target hiding behind islands and destroy it ; Either by going round the target or suddenly rising and going over the island then dipping back again.

quote:
SavunmaSanayiST.com tarafından edinilen bilgiye göre; Türk Deniz Kuvvetleri’nin ihtiyaçları kapsamında geliştirilen ATMACA Gemisavar Füzesi, “Gelişmiş 3B Görev Planlama” özelliğine sahip. Bu özellik sayesinde ATMACA operatörü mürettebat, ATMACA’nın hedefine giderken izleyeceği rotayı önceden planlayabiliyor ve rota bacakları ekleyebiliyor. Hedef platformun Adalar Denizi’nde yer alan bir adanın arkasında bulunduğunu düşünürsek; fırlatılışından itibaren Super Sea Skimming özellikle seyir alan ATMACA, hedef platformun önünde yer alan adanın etrafından dolaşabilmekte veya ani bir şekilde yükselme-alçalma yaparak hedefi imha edebilmektedir.
Unquote.
I am looking forward to hearing about the sub launched version of this missile. Especially with the new gasket they are building that will help launch it about a km away from the sub, hence, preventing to give away sub’s position.

KTJ3200 acceptance tests had been completed earlier in June this year. It was in serial production phase. Last news was that a live sinking of a sea platform with ktj3200 powered missile launch was to be performed.

“We have reached the final stage in the liquid fuel RamJet Project, which changes the concepts of war”
“We will reveal a RamJet prototype operating at supersonic speeds in 2022”

The announcement of the launch of the Gökhan project was made on June 24, 2021 by the Minister of Defense Hulusi Akar. When did TÜBİTAK SAGE manage to develop the engine and be ready to build a prototype in 2022? The engine will have a performance similar to that of the Meteor missile, ie 4 mach.

On May 13, 2021, the CEO of TÜBİTAK SAGE, announced that they successfully fired the ramjet engine prototype more than 100 times. So, obviously, the project dates long before June 24, 2021. But we don't know the nature of these tests or the achieved parameters.

I had also read this announcement for pilot tests, maybe the Gökhan program has been unofficial for at least 2-3 years.

Ramjet engine can be fuelled either with liquid fuels or with solid fuels.
Of the current, ramjet engined a2a missiles; Meteor, PL21 and R-77PD missiles are all solid fuel powered.
Solid fuels, make ramjet missiles, easy to store. Also as most Ramjet fuels need certain solid metal particles to be added to enhance their performance, it is an easy job when your ramjet uses solid fuels.
Ramjet engines using solid fuels however, are difficult to throttle up and down. The solid fuel is actually stuck to the inner walls of the combustion chamber of a ramjet and is used/burnt by stripping it with hot air jets by “ablation” method in layers. This makes it rather difficult to control throttle.
With liquid fuels it is easier to control the throttle characteristics of a ramjet as fuel is just injected in to the combustion chamber. But when it comes to addition of metal particles, they sink to the bottom of the liquid fuel and do not mix evenly. To overcome this problem Gel Fuels are used in Ramjets (As in Brahmos). Metal particles are evenly dispersed in a gel fuel and they do not have a tendency to sink. A gelled fuel has solid-like behavior until shear stress is applied. Under shear stress, the gel becomes less viscous and ends up behaving like a liquid. A gel fuel combines the storability properties of a solid fuel with the throttleability of a liquid fuel.
All the statements made by SSB alike up until now, clearly say that we are going ahead with a liquid powered ramjet a2a missile. Brahmos too has a liquid powered ramjet. But actually uses Gel Fuel. So I wonder if our guys are actually working on a missile with gel fuels. If so , this will pave the way for Brahmos like supersonic anti ship missiles with further developments lead to a scramjet hypersonic missile.

@Okumus said, you cant use Ramjet from surface. Why?
That is wrong.
Brahmos was developed as a surface to surface missile. Zircon has been launched from surface (land and sea) first.
it is either a misunderstanding or a case specific situation he was talking .
I have just listened to him. He says Ramjet is not launched from land (meaning from zero speed) . He then adds : “Ramjet becomes operational after it reaches a certain speed. “
That is the normal operational condition of a ramjet. In order for the ramjet effect to take control of the engine, there has to be a very high degree of airflow going through the engine so that the air is “rammed” in to the combustion chamber. In some cases this occurs just before Mach speed. But generally the missile needs to reach well over speed of sound for the ramjet to work effectively. This is achieved by a booster rocket. Once this speed is reached the ramjet engine takes control of the missile. It works most efficiently up to Mach 5. After this speed it needs too much fuel.
The speed of airflow through a ramjet is subsonic. As air is rammed in to the combustion chamber, even though the missile may be travelling at 4.5 Mach speed, the airflow is at subsonic speeds.
If you ram this air even more and achieve supersonic airflow speeds then you get “Supersonic Combustion Ramjet” : Scramjet.
So once you achieve ramjet propulsion. Natural thing to do is to follow it up with a development of a scramjet engine.
