- Expected huge numbers of batteries regarding the spyder, and Barak air defense systems. The same applies to VL mica air defense system from France. I would expect Barak to be over 4+ batteries, and Spyder/VL mica to be over 8+ batteries. ( Just my assumptions)

Because previous deals included 2x battery of VL mica and 2x of BARAK-8 MX to my knowledge.

VL mica was already delivered last year and the initial deal was not 2 batteries. Let's say that the deal was for more than 3 batteries and an additional order has been placed to raise the number to more than 8+ batteries.

The Barak-MX is reported to have started deliveries last month along with many sweet, and secret deals we have made with Israel. One of them is the Puls launcher

Brigadier General Sharon Etach, of Moroccan origin, was appointed military attaché of the Israel Defense Forces in the Kingdom of Morocco.


The strategic partnership between Morocco and Israel is reaching new heights when it comes to military cooperation, as well as within the framework of the defense industry. Sharon Etach will have the task to monitor, plan, and execute various cooperation programs when it comes to joint drills, sharing of data/knowledge, as well as following up with cooperation programs within the defense industry. It's not the first time we hear about Israeli Jews of Moroccan origin that works in various different positions within the state, military, and defense. Interesting development!

- It is expected that Morocco will obtain naval military deals, after a meeting held yesterday, Monday, between the Royal Navy and its American counterpart. The talks are regarding naval vessels that are on the way to be decommissioned. The cargo ship USNS bob hope has been mentioned. Something sweet is coming


- Increasing rapprochement between Morocco and Israel after Tel Aviv's recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara brings Rabat's desire to own F-35 fighters. Not the first time the news regarding F35 is mentioned, I hope we will end up procuring it.

Given the arms race between two countries?

Thought it would be wise to answer here to not derail the other thread. The Moroccan modernization plan goes beyond drones, we are doing a huge massive program that would surprise a lot of people within the coming decade. As long as the war doesn't take place in a short time span of 1-2 years, we would be good. The time is on our side definitely.

The Moroccan modernisation plan is a plan destined to be a 10-year plan between 2020-2030 with the aim to develop the armed forces to become the most capable armed forces in Africa. 100 billion dollars will be spent solely on procurement, which will evolve all of our branches to new heights. The Moroccan armed forces will grow in numbers, but also quantum leap at a technological level getting access to the most advanced state-of-the-art platforms in the world.


During the last 3 years, Morocco has made huge breakthroughs for the ground forces with many new platforms procured and delivered. The Merkava was procured to work alongside the M1 abrams, as well as the Bradley IFV. There are also talks with a couple of states regarding the procurement of IFV to raise the numbers to respectable numbers. We are in the process of building a very sophisticated, and capable network-centric, air defense layered concept. A structure that few states in the world possess, and operate without going into much detail. Coastal defense systems such as the Sea breaker GLCM were also procured for defensive use.


S/L band radars with several hundreds of kilometers have been procured, and the same applies to very sophisticated electronic warfare platforms. Our offensive capabilities have grown enormously in the latest years with with the introduction of M109A6, Ceasar, and Atmos artillery howitzers. HIMARS and PULS launchers were procured, as well as expanding our advanced capabilities in the field of ballistic missiles.


The Moroccan Air Force will also evolve into a new force in the region with huge procurement raising the numbers of fighter jets as well as giving the necessary focus on logistics, and intelligence/detection capabilities. Morocco has invested enormously in the production of suicide drones with short ranges, as well as long ranges that can reach targets 1,000 km away. Negotiating regarding strategic air lifters, transport/attack helicopters, and refueling planes is continuing. Advanced negotiations have been reached regarding fighter jets and AEW/SIGINT aircraft.


The Moroccan Navy will also get its allocated budget to reform the Navy into a respectable navy in the Mediterranean Sea. Negotiations are taking place now with several countries regarding the procurement of warships. Negotiation with one country will involve the aspect of the defense industry and naval shipbuilding. The final goal is to have one of the leading navies in the Mediterranean Sea.

With procurement, Morocco has a long-term plan to build a strong defense industrial base that has been in the works for over 5 years. Mainly with the US, and Israel however Morocco has also signed agreements with other states such as India, Czech republic, Romania, and Brazil to mention a few.


To summarize the Moroccan armed forces will be a complete new military that will be the pride of Africa and the Muslim world. Morocco is making huge deals as we speak, i wish I could reveal more. This is only the tip of the iceberg!

It was a primary payment , the actual number of batteries is big , between 6-8 batteries .
