Then initial plan covered both 76/62 and 127 mm, however it was quite behind the schedule, till a magic hand emerged and accelerared the 76/62 program after the embargo.I wonder if MKE will make 127mm too
DzKK (TN) refrains from referring to 127mm gun as indigineous (on TF-2000) however, some sources from SSB - Government keeps indicating 127mm is going to be developed locally.
On the other hand, the world shifts towards lighter caliber guns on naval platforms, 127 is being replaced by 76, or 57 is being used in place of 76mm. Maybe TN will for a design change on TF-2000 and use double 76/62 instead of single 127?
Even if 127mm is developed it will be produced by limited amounts, at most 7 for 7 TF-2000. Which is 3 are optional as of now, leaves us at 4 piece, niche product. Meanwhile 76/62 will be: 4 + 10 + 7 + unknown counts for various platforms. Also twin forty - fast forty, these have huge export potential in near future with smart - proximity fuzed or guided munitions.
But MKE has a long time till they need to develop a 127mm, maybe they can do it on time but first they should get a serial production for 76/62 since the export customers will be emerging as it proves itself and offered with high tech munitions.
