Also as off-topic, I am definitely in favor of the development of a scalable and peripheral variant of MIDLAS. Thus, We would gain the option to add maximum VLS capability as part of the modernization of low displacement ships or old frigates and corvettes of our country and other friendly navies. Maybe not for future strategic missiles, but at least at the tactical level.

This is a must after cracking the multi-packing tech. The mere difference is making each VLS cell self-sustainable (controllers, exhausts etc) and in variable sizes.

Damen has quitted JV with state owned Mangalia shipyard in Romania. That leaves Fincantieri/Germany as the logical options and US as illogical one. Also a great oppurtinity for ASFAT / TAIS / Dearsan but doubting if Romania would be interested in cooperating with TR.

Not sure if negotiations (on price basis) are completed for the remaining three hulls. SSB was conducting meetings with suppliers (including Aselsan, Roketsan et al.) and bargaining. That may only be known after these are completed.

So the contract of hull and weapons and sensors are made separately, not like there is a main contractor and the contract made just with them.

They will go with the US. They, as @Anmdt mentioned, need credit. Wouldn't surpise me if they just straight up buy Freedom-Class LCS the US intends to decommission in the near future.

The information that the number of VLSs will increase on the three ships of the class is not correct. Both STM GM Mr. Güleryüz as well as Roketsan GM Mr. Ikinci told this openly in our interviews. HİSAR-D Block II will have a quadpack structure, so more missiles will be carried.

If you don't have preexisting beef with USA, it is a very good idea for small countries to get under US wings.
And Romania is already a strategic frontier for USA as they host the US AEGIS ASHORE ICBM interceptors.

Absolutely. And when you add the fact that the small country is a NATO member who is only one small country (Moldova) away from Russia with a breakaway “state” under the influence of the latter, near the battle zone, it makes sense.

If you are thinking about the LCS or MMSC frigate then I don't think they will end up in Romania. Most likely it will end up in a country with huge strategic importance to the US interest. Either it's Poland, Morocco, Taiwan etc...

I can't see anyone else wanting them, it is estimated to take billions of dollars to make LCS ships actually useful and sea worthy especially early hulls. Ada class would be so much better for any Navy with such a need.
