USVs wouldn't fill the role of the actual escorts, the frigates, as they lack the proper SAM systems or the range to act as escorts. USVs would only be a (worthwhile) addition in close defence and she could act as a mothership for USVs.

@Anıl Mert Taşkın has delivered the news in the article, TTHB (TTAB) continues as expected. SSB now allocates the fund for the first hull of the project. It will commence soon and STM will unveil the design.

It is simply MPAC + some sensors etc. Or better to call MPAC 'export version' of TTAB. Powered by 2 gas turbines, 2 diesel engines in CODAG form. 2 Diesels drive two separate maneauverable water jets, 2 gas turbines drive a single booster water jet.

Sensors;
X-DAR (Multi purpose X band AESA)*
AKREP CWI radar
IRST - unconfirmed
EO director (Ahtapot or Kuzgun, depends)
Compact EA/ED by Aselsan**

*Depends on operator, may also have Cenk-S or MAR-D

**Depends on operator, may also have light ESM or none.

Weapons;
8 Atmaca or 4 Atmaca + 12 Cakir
SAM (will be present under certain configuration, not present with PDMS)
Turkish PDMS or Gokdeniz CIWS.
76 mm MKEK

I don't know much about the maritime affairs, so I might be talking nonsense, but couldn't it be better if TN worked more on the various subtypes of the missiles boats rather then OPVs?

NAZAR Laser Electronic Attack System (LETS) has been integrated onto the TCG GÖKOVA frigate

Got a question: Is it gonna blind the oncoming missile (passive) or gonna totally destroy it (active)?
It is an ingenious weapon. It uses very little laser power and with more range than most CIWS, it will blind and render useless multiple targets it's tracking system has identified, one after the other in quick successions.
It may look like a passive system. But by blinding and rendering the targeting system of an incoming missile useless, it is in fact destroying it.

Oh yeah, please keep talking dirty to me :sneaky:

On a serious note, is there a video of it in action (like a demonstration) or a detailed article about it somewhere?

This part really hits the nail on the head:

"It's part of a layered defense; each layer has tremendous value. As the threat approaches, every layer must step in to neutralize that threat. Using this system, we will have created a brand-new layer at the top to protect that valuable platform."

Not replacement but an additional layer of protection for our Navy, I love it. Also the fact that they are working on putting a smaller version on USV is amazing. Thanks for the article mate.

Defence Turkey: Is this 1.5-year period for the production or the delivery of the naval version of the NAZAR System?

Özgür CANKARA:
In fact, it's like the Naval version is also completed after the development of the Land version is completed. But we will install the system to a naval platform and integrate it with the onboard Combat Management System (CMS). Then we will conduct sea trials with the system. Therefore, we consider the NAZAR Naval only as a production and integration activity. ;)

Isn't 5 years a long time? :(Can't it be 2-3 years?:);)
Lol, 5 years? Make it 10.
This information is "leaked" by T-rex, and off-the point as much as possible, merely based on what he reads here and there and how he interprets it (mainly this forum though).

TF-2000 goes through " contract design " stage, not " contract " stage. Anyone making a comment after reading this forum, particularly this thread and re-publishing it on twitter or back here on this thread first should know difference of two.

TF-2000 may get the steel cutting even within this year merely for a ceremony or the next year, and it doesn't matter. Contract design stage is expected to be completed by June 2024 with a possible foreseen 6 months delay, to be followed by Detail-Production design stage which is necessary for the construction (Construction may simultaneously go on for the sections which the detail design phase is completed, however).

And 2029 is not the expected commissioning but partial acceptance date, may as well end up being commencing sea trials if delays occur in the project (which it will occur). Add +3 years for such a ship to reach initial operational condition. And add+3 years as Navy foresees as a margin of error or unexpected delays.

Writing this as a person who so far has given the accurate information on several naval projects, including what goes on TF-2000 in details while none other insiders or experts in social media were mentioning of these.

The only credible people on social media are the ones who doesn't give exact dates out of their arses.

They will come in June to say " Tests of TF-2000 is completed". Man, been telling it since December here on this forum and they will not even tell it is towing tank scaled model experiments for resistance, self-propulsion, and sea-keeping and maneuvering (at this point they will not even know about the tests being conducted in cavitation tunnel, but hey how come a ship is tested in a cavitation tunnel right? What is the purpose there, it is for cavitation). They even refrain from giving a reference to this forum.

No further comments.

I wrote it in jest. We've seen in previous projects that it can't be less than 5 years. I wrote it because my heart wanted it to be so, it was a wish.

China would have done it in 1 month.:p
