OSHKOSH DEFENSE RCV SELECTED FOR PLATFORM PROTOTYPE DESIGN & BUILD​

OSHKOSH, WI. (September 28, 2023) — Oshkosh Defense, LLC, an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK) company, announced today that it was selected by the U.S. Army, through the Ground Vehicle Systems Other Transaction Agreement (GVS OTA), to participate in Phase I, Platform Prototype Design and Build, of the Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV) program.


Leveraging an elite team of Oshkosh Defense, Pratt Miller Defense, and QinetiQ, Oshkosh submitted its response to the Army’s Request for Prototype Proposal in May 2023.


“We are proud to be selected to participate in Phase I of the RCV program,” said Pat Williams, chief programs officer for Oshkosh Defense. “We offer a mature and proven solution, with demonstrated durability and flexibility to incorporate new technologies, to meet the demands of an evolving battlefield.”


The tracked, autonomous vehicles will support varying payloads and advanced weapons systems through scalable, mission-focused modularity. Oshkosh will showcase the RCV capabilities from October 9 – 11 in their booth (#739) at the 2023 AUSA Annual Meeting and Exposition. Earlier this year, Oshkosh displayed the platform’s essential versatility during the 2023 AUSA Global Force Symposium.


“Our RCV is informed by years of customer feedback and tailored to meet the needs of the Soldier,” Williams continued. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Army to deliver a soldier-centered, purpose-built solution.”


Oshkosh will deliver two platform prototypes for testing in August 2024. The Army has announced the intent to select one vendor for Phase II, Full-System Prototype Design and Build, in FY24.

OSHKOSH DEFENSE RECEIVES ORDER FOR ADDITIONAL ROGUE FIRES​

OSHKOSH, WI. (October 2, 2023) — Oshkosh Defense, LLC, an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK) company, announced today that the Marine Corps Systems Command has placed a $39.5 million order for additional Remotely Operated Ground Unit for Expeditionary Fires (ROGUE-Fires) carriers and associated kits.


Based on the Oshkosh Defense Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV), ROGUE Fires is an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) that leverages the JLTV’s extreme off-road mobility, payload capacity and Oshkosh’s advanced autonomous vehicle technologies to support Ground-Based Anti-Ship Missile (GBASM) operations. The unmanned technology associated with ROGUE Fires allows the vehicle to operate in teleoperator or leader-follower mode.

OSHKOSH, WI. (October 9, 2023) — Oshkosh Defense, LLC, an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK) company, is exhibiting at Association of United States Army (AUSA) 2023 exposition in Washington, D.C. from October 8 – 10, 2023. On display is the highly versatile Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV) and the newly modernized FMTV A2 Low-Velocity Airdrop (LVAD).


Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV): The industry-leading team of Oshkosh Defense, Pratt Miller Defense, and QinetiQ recently announced their selection in the Platform Prototype Design and Build phase of the RCV program.


At AUSA 2023, the Oshkosh RCV is equipped with the Kongsberg CROWS-J RS6 LW 30 Remote Weapon Station and CACI counter-unmanned aircraft technologies (C-UAS) system, to showcase the platform’s versatility and capabilities to support advanced weapon systems through scalable, mission-focused modularity.

FMTV A2 Low-Velocity Airdrop (LVAD): As the premier manufacturer of medium tactical vehicles, Oshkosh Defense leverages the modernized FMTV A2 to address challenges related to an aging FMTV LVAD fleet. The FMTV A2 LVAD offers the performance and protection of the FMTV A2 with critical additions including a folding cab that allows the vehicle height to be reduced to 90”, a chassis designed specifically for parachute drop and landing, and the addition of a winch to all LVAD variants.


To date, Oshkosh Defense has delivered two FMTV A2 LVAD prototypes to the U.S. Army for testing, with two additional prototype deliveries planned for late 2023. Since testing began, the prototypes have successfully completed Rollover Protection Structures (ROPS), RIGEX (Rigging Exercises), Roller Loading, and Simulated Airdrop Impact Testing (SAIT). Additional testing is planned into FY24.

OSHKOSH DEFENSE RECEIVES JLTV ORDER FOR $208 MILLION​

OSHKOSH, WI. (November 6, 2023) — Oshkosh Defense, LLC, announced that the U.S. Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal placed an order for Oshkosh Defense Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTV), trailers (JLTV-T), and associated packaged and installed kits.


The order is valued at $208 million and includes JLTVs for the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Air Force.


The JLTV was designed to replace the aging uparmored HMMWV fleet with a vehicle providing better protection, mobility and a greater payload capacity. The Oshkosh Defense JLTV filled that critical capability with a purpose-built modular design that is easily configured to meet mission needs including weapon systems, protection kits, communications, and other critical equipment. It can accommodate more than 100 different mission package configurations without sacrificing mobility, protection, or transportability.


Since winning the initial JLTV contract in 2015, Oshkosh Defense has received orders for over 23,000 JLTVs for the U.S. Armed Forces and NATO, Allied and Collation partners. Throughout the program, Oshkosh Defense focused on continuous improvement and innovation, as reflected by more than 125 patents and applications that Oshkosh holds associated with the JLTV family of vehicles and related technologies.

JLTV INTEREST CONTINUES FOR OSHKOSH DEFENSE​

OSHKOSH, WI. (November 16, 2023) — The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal announced that is has awarded Oshkosh Defense a $160 million order for additional Oshkosh Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTV) and associated packaged and installed kits.


The order includes JLTVs for international allies including Mongolia, Romania, Macedonia, Slovenia, and Slovakia.


The Oshkosh JLTV’s modular design and digital architecture allow it to accommodate more than 100 mission packages that incorporate weapons, lasers, sensors, networking, and communication.

OSHKOSH DEFENSE TO PRODUCE MEDIUM EQUIPMENT TRAILERS FOR U.S. ARMY​

OSHKOSH, WI. — Oshkosh Defense announced today that the U.S. Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA) awarded a production contract for the Medium Equipment Trailer (MET). Oshkosh will partner with Broshuis, B.V to execute the $342 million contract.


The five-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract includes the option for two additional years and calls for Oshkosh to produce an estimated 557 trailers.


The MET is a six-axle trailer designed to be pulled by the Oshkosh Enhanced Heavy Equipment Transporter (EHET) M1300 Tractor with the ability to obtain European road permissions at required payloads and negotiate highway underpasses. The combined MET and EHET system is capable of transporting military equipment weighing up to 60-tons.


In September 2022, the U.S. Army also selected Oshkosh to produce the Enhanced Heavy Equipment Transporter System (EHETS).

OSHKOSH, WI. — Oshkosh Defense announced today that the Israeli Ministry of Defense (IMOD) has placed two orders for Oshkosh Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTV) for the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). A total of 75 JLTVs were purchased via Foreign Military Sale (FMS) and dozens more were purchased via Direct Commercial Sale (DCS).

ENHANCED CAPABILITES COMING FOR THE OSHKOSH HET A1​

OSHKOSH, WI. — The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA) recently awarded Oshkosh Defense the contract for modification kits to update current Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET) A1 tractors with enhanced capabilities to meet European road permissions at required payloads. With these kits, the HET A1 will be converted to the Enhanced Heavy Equipment Transporter System (EHETS) tractor.


The EHETS tractor and trailer system combined are designed to provide line haul, local haul, and maintenance evacuation of the heaviest mission-critical equipment including tanks, armored vehicles, and recovery vehicles. The system also supports the self-load and unload of disabled cargo as necessary for evacuation purposes.


Constantly evolving military capabilities require heavy tactical vehicles that keep pace with the demands of a changing battlefield.


“We are honored that the U.S. Army continues to call on us to facilitate integration of new capabilities into combat formations,” said Pat Williams, chief programs officer at Oshkosh Defense. “The EHET is another example of the adaptability of the Oshkosh Family of Heavy Tactical Vehicles to seamlessly integrate advanced capabilities onto the existing fleet.”

Remotely Operated Ground Unit for Expeditionary Fires (ROGUE-Fires)

Developed for the U.S. Marine Corps and based on the Oshkosh Defense Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV), ROGUE-Fires is an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) that combines the JLTV’s extreme off-road mobility, payload capacity and Oshkosh’s advanced autonomous vehicle technologies to provide launcher platform for various weapons payloads. ROGUE-Fires supports Ground-Based Anti-Ship Missile (GBASM) operations as a component of the Navy/Marine Corps Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System or NMESIS. The unmanned technology associated with ROGUE-Fires allows the vehicle to operate in teleoperated or autonomous modes. In October 2023, Oshkosh announced it was awarded the contract to begin low-rate initial production from the Marine Corps Systems Command.


Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV)

Oshkosh Defense and partners, Pratt Miller Defense and QinetiQ, continue to prepare for the delivery of two platform prototypes in August 2024 for government testing under the Platform Prototype Ground Vehicle Systems Other Transaction Agreement (GVS OTA). Optimized through iterations of test and Soldier feedback, the Oshkosh RCV delivers a mature platform with proven performance and maintainability with the flexibility to accommodate the U.S. Army’s priority mission packages. During AUSA GFS 2024, the Oshkosh RCV will showcase the platform’s versatility and capabilities to support advanced weapon systems with the integration of the Kongsberg Protector RS6 and the CACI Expeditionary Mobile Air Defense Integrated System (X-MADIS) Full Spectrum Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS).
