Head of the Polish Ministry of Defence, Mariusz Błaszczak, signed a Letter of Offer and Acceptance concerning 250 M1A2 Abrams SEPv3 MBTs. The agreement is worth around 4.75 bn. dollars and this is the net amount. The first 28 vehicles coming from the US Army stock would be handed off to the Polish military this year, making it possible for the training to commence. The deliveries are expected to be finalized by 2026.

The Agreement has been signed by the head of the Polish Ministry of Defence, Mariusz Błaszczak. It is being handled using the G2G FMS procedural framework. The Agreement covers the procurement of 250 M1A2 Abrams SEPv3 MBTs, along with support vehicles, including the 26 M88A2 Hercules ARVs, and the 17 M1110 Joint Assault Bridge platforms. Alongside the MBTs, Poland is also to acquire logistics and training packages, simulators, and ammunition. The agreement value is defined as ca. USD 4.75 billion which translates into PLN 20.02 billion (net value, considering the current currency exchange rates). The maximum amount mentioned the notification was defined as USD 6 bn.

Rip off. That's all I am saying. 19 million per tank. Its also another 4.75 billion which has just left Europe and gone directly into the pockets of Americans arms dealers.

Not quite. That also includes spares, simulators, training, munitions, ARV and bridging equipment.

K2 or Leopard 2A7 would make more sense. I am not really fan of tribune engine of Abrams.
Abrams are for now. Its the only tanks that we can have in a few years and we can learn how to use it from right now.
Leopards are problematic.
a )the ones that we have need upgrade and its a pain in the ass, it is taking time, money and it is not going as it should be
b) other problem is that we can see now that in case of a war we cant really count on Germans to send us new Leopards, parts for them etc. They are to close to Russia
After we sent 230 our old russian T72s to Ukraine, we PROPABLY sent PT91 too (its no point for them to rot when they could be usefull in battle) we have no tanks left.
And yes I HOPE we sign a deal with Hyunday to produce K2PL but those tanks will be ready closer to 2030 so it is a future project and K2 should be our main BT.

I don't know what the future of the Wolf program will be with Poland introducing M1 Abrams this time. I think the only alternative at the moment is the M1 Abrams tanks that the Polish army can have through the fastest process.

If Poland decides to introduce K2, it will take longer to actually receive the tank. In 2021, South Korea's Agency for Defense Development developed new ultra high-hardnes and high-hardness armor steels for tanks and armored vehicles, and is working on a project to improve the armor of the K2's export model.

Developed by Agency for Defense Development, the new ultra-high hardness armor steel has completed a joint international study between Korea and India to test the applicable structural bulletproof performance and will be applied to K2, K9, and K21.
Reference: Agency for Defense Development, Ultra high-hardness and high-hardness armor steels development, 8 June 2021

So even if Poland chooses K2 through the Wolf program, the only thing South Korea can offer Poland is K2, not K2PL, and K2PL is still in the conceptual design proposal stage, and K2PL's prototype is likely to be released after 2026, when the development of K2 PIP, a K2 improved model, is completed.

But as you said, judging by the long-term benefits of developing the Polish defense industry, I don't think it's a bad choice because South Korea promised to produce K2PL tanks in Poland and transfer technology extensively.

Poland is(has become) the most important mainland European ally for the US therefore the US will do everything in its power to upgrade the Polish Armed Forces.
In this regard you should expect a full "Military Marshall plan'' for your country.
This will probably mean a cancellation of the K2PL deal.

On May 28, a Polish defense cooperation delegation sent a letter requesting an official visit to South Korea's Defense Acquisition Program Administration's European-Asia cooperation department. During their stay in Korea, they will visit Korean military units and defense companies' factories.

Little birds are talking about 2 main point of the visit
a) modernized FA-50 as a replacement for MIG 29 and SU-22 (about 32)
b) K2 and ultimately K2PL

c) more K-9

Edit.
We know now that K-9 chasis from Korea will be used to produce Krabs that Ukraine bought from Poland (54 Krabs for Ukraine, 120 for Polish army)

Two main point are AS21s and K2s/K2PL, as these will be procured in hundreds.

Also - K9 hulls for Krabs.

And FA-50s

Ok, now we know that Poland are ready to buy 180 K2 ASAP.
"It was confirmed that Poland had expressed its intention to purchase 180 K2 tanks from Hyundai Rotem. If the export is finalized, the export value is expected to reach 3 trillion won plus"

Wow so Poland is planning on buying both the Abrams and K2 at the same time? Poland probably effectively will have one of the strongest tank force in Europe if they receive them. Pair them with the existing Leopard 2A4PL's.

Our 230 old T72 went to Ukraine, our 230 PT-91 may go there in any moment, our Leo are mainly not operational so for now we have one of the weakest tank force :)
The question remains if that 180 K2 will be original K2, K2NO, or some kind of K2PL

Knowing the Polish, those 230 PT-91 will be on their way to Ukraine any day now lol. It explains the immediate requirement for Tanks though. What is the reason that the Leo are not operational? Didn't they recently got an upgrade package?

They are getting it and there are muliple problems both with our and german side. It is pain in the ass so no more Leopards for Poland. Maybe we will be able to sell our when we get M1 and K2.
