I hope we can make transmission. Even koreans failed with the years of production experience.
Is the problem with Korean transmission is material or mechanic?
Both options are equally possible. I wish the latter happens.
It doesn't matter for me if we got our engine at the. Of course, the second option is more plausible. But without prior knowledge in engines. It would not be easy.

We are not doing it because it is easy, we are doing it because it is hard. JFK
We have no clue, so we have to wait and see.
But there is a good chance that BMC could bring together a dream team for the job.

This engine has 6+6 = 12 cylinders (can be Batu engine) . But it looks very much like a Doosan DV27K engine (like the one below) !! May be produced under license??

This engine has 4+4 = 8 cylinders. (Can not be Batu) But could be UTKU

If the first picture is Batu , we still do not have a transmission. May be a Hybrid engine is in the plans??

Pretty close but still maybe independent. When you decide on a particular engine design like V12 then the design philosophy may just be naturally similar.

Unless there is magic going on and the engine has been taken out from a hat.

It is bound to have some similarities (Intake, exhaust, cooling ducts) as the engine compartment of Altay is the same as K2, both based off the dimensions and orientation of MTU MT-883.

MTU MT-883, you don't have to look closely to see some similarities with MTU engine too.

Great news, when's the first Altay set to be launched with BATU ?

Also, we should work on the dumbed down version too like the Russians did with the T-72 :)

I think our guys in BMC have done , what Otokar did with the Altay body. Cash against TOT of this engine!
I wonder what they are going to do with the transmission. There is no transmission readily available to copy.
For quick and effective solution to this is to ask Aselsan to develop an electrodiesel stage to provide current to DC motors driving the traction wheels. This could be a transmissionless solution. Or develop a hybrid system as in HSL700 Tulomsas/Aselsan cooperation.
