Honestly, if the EU doesnt give what they promised to Turkey; then the Turks should give guns to the refugees so that they ensure their safety through EU
Turkey has a decent stash of PKK weapons. Who knows? Maybe EU will stop arming the EU, if their own ppl are killed with such weapons by the hand of refugees storming Europe

Wow, its been a long time that I have stumbled on such a dumb post.

Haha nice one
Sadly iam not joking
I believe tnis is the only factual, logical, path available for turkey rn

Refugees are already present in doves insode Turkey. I presume that they are over 6 millions already tbh. This is already an undeniable fact
The CHP claims of pushing refugees back to Syria in just 2 years is pure BULLSHIT and is no more than propaganda. I would rather live inside caves in Turkey and eat grass rather than go back to Syria
I mean just watch this👇

So now what should the Turks do?
Should the Turks suffer just so that the EU members peacefully drink their wine during nightime and talk about how amazing they are for protecting human rights?
If Turkey whatsoever, wont gain shit for their suffering from reguees; Then they should just let them go back to EU
However, EU is ramping up their lovely defenses against such a possibility
When a Syrian sees that trespassing into EU will leave the same consequence as going back to Syria, then they will prefer to stay in Turkey
If such mentality prevails among refugees, then EU will just watch Turkey burn from the inside while they are laughing from the sidelines! Just give refugess the means to protect their lives and let them go to EU ffs!

So we should send armed people to other countries? That sounds like terrorism.

Oh sure.....
So the West arms terrorists to screw you off is fine but you wont do it because it indicates terrorism? If every1 thought like you, there would be no wars at all!
Sadly, the world isnt a nice place! You need to wake up!
If they sent armed terrorists to your borders, then send armed terrorists to theirs
If they forced refugees to settle in your land without compensation, then you force such refugees back to EU
If they forcefully prevented such refugess from entering EU, then Turkey must FORCEFULLY push those refugees into Europe

Such lovely sentiments about right and wrong only works when you are at the top, not when you are the UNDERDOG

It didn't work well the first time

All Turkey needs to do is stop paying for them, then they will naturally leave towards Europe. Turkey pays for their living, their food, healthcare, education etc. Rescind it all and they will be on their way. Was never Turkeys responsibility to feed and home millions of refugees who are running to europe. Its not really europes job either, but then again europe is responsible for turning these peoples countries upside down.

I feel like the only reason some EU countries are kind of benign towards Turkey is because of the refugee guard role.

If Turkey were to just straight up tell the entire EU to go f**k themselves, watch how quickly the mood changes. Countries like Hungary, Poland and Italy, for example, which are sort of "friendly" to Turkey would make a 180 virtually overnight. They are already not exactly buddies but now they wouldn't even have to pretend anymore because of the refugees.

So there might be some political calculations here. Not saying it's a good thing just making an observation.

It will be the end of the EU. The last time Turkey said have them, it turned the EU on itself. Germany telling countries to share the burden, most countries building walls, closing borders and threatening each other over it. Plus it revealed the real european face towards brown people.

But from a Turkish perspective the EU is bad news, its better europe returns to being many small powers all fighting with each other, rather then one unified empire with one army which no doubts will be directed against Turkey first and foremost.

Italy behaves like a prostitute politically. Who cares what Poland thinks about Turkey, a nation that spent much of the last 300 years occupied and only exists as a state because of outside powers? Hungary has certain Turkic connections and a leader that is relatively anti-EU.

Europeans dont even really like each other, its naïve to think they will ever like Muslims. In England for example "eastern European" is used as a disparaging term. When English call you eastern european, they say it with contempt, in the same way when they say middle eastern. Like wise they look at the balkan peoples as less then white, poor and lazy. The Spanish are looked at if they are Arabs. Now England is maybe the least racist nation in Europe. You go other countries in europe and they all hate each other. For example the czechs are seen as thieves in austria, while in the czech republic the polish are seen as thieves. I could go on and on. Europeans generally have more contempt for each other then Muslims do of each other.

Europeans have a much deeper and more violent history of slaughtering each other then the Muslims do.

Over 1,000 km of Turkish land borders protected by security walls

Over 1,000 kilometers (621 miles) of Turkish land borders have been fortified with security walls to prevent potential migration waves as of September, the Presidential Annual Program for 2022 underlined.

Within the scope of the physical security system project initiated in 2015 to secure the country's borders, security walls were constructed along 1,005 kilometers of Turkey's land borders, accounting for 34% of borders.

In the Presidential Annual Program for 2022, published in the Official Gazette, procedures designed to prevent illegal passages were listed under "security services."

The project was initiated in 2015 with the aim of stemming the ever-increasing flow of irregular mass migration along Turkey's 2,949 kilometers of land borders. Since 2015, 837 kilometers of Turkey's 1,295-kilometer southern border have been sealed with a border wall. In the east, walls have been erected along 168 kilometers of the 1,182-kilometer border since work began in 2017.

The construction of a wall along 73 kilometers of Turkey's 2,477-kilometer eastern and southern land borders, all neighboring Iran, also continued this year. Work is ongoing to bolster the 238-kilometer stretch along the Iranian border in the east and 33 kilometers on the border shared with Iraq in the south.

In Van, which has the longest border with Iran, security forces are taking every possible precaution to prevent illegal crossings, smuggling activities and terrorist infiltrations by constantly monitoring and patrolling the border with armored vehicles.

Faced with a potential migrant wave due to the instability in Afghanistan, Turkey has maximized measures on its eastern border. Turkey is continuing efforts to bolster the security of its border with Iran to prevent any new influx of migrants. The beefed-up border measures in Turkey, which already hosts nearly 4 million Syrian refugees and is a staging post for many migrants trying to reach Europe, began as the Taliban started advancing in Afghanistan and took over Kabul.

Turkey is not the only country putting up barriers. Its neighbor Greece recently completed a 40-kilometer fence and surveillance system to keep out migrants who manage to enter Turkey and attempt to reach the European Union.

Authorities say there are 182,000 registered Afghan migrants in Turkey and up to an estimated 120,000 unregistered ones. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan urged European countries to take responsibility in the event of an influx, warning that Turkey had no intention of becoming "Europe's migrant storage unit."

Turkey has been a key transit point for asylum-seekers attempting to cross into Europe to start new lives, especially those fleeing war and persecution. Concerns have risen over a possible spike in migrants from Afghanistan, due to the United States' pullout from the country and the following surge of Taliban attacks. Turkey has made it clear that it will not bear the burden of the migration crises experienced as a result of the decisions of third countries.

Turkey hosts nearly 4 million refugees – more than any country in the world. After the Syrian civil war broke out in 2011, Turkey adopted an “open-door policy” for people fleeing the conflict, granting them “temporary protection” status. Afghans are believed to be the second-largest refugee community in Turkey after Syrians. Many of the migrants arriving via Iran are heading for Istanbul to find work or passage to another coastal city from which to embark for Europe.

Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu last week once again stressed that Turkey faces a serious irregular migration threat amid the recent developments in Afghanistan.

"There are 3.5 million Afghans in Iran. Considering that 2 million people are ready to move, and 2,000 people come daily, we are faced with a very serious threat of migration," he warned.

Soylu also visited Iran last week to sign a memorandum of understanding designed to prevent the terrorist and illegal activities the countries face, particularly along their borders.

İf you remove Syrians from free healthcare system which is burden on Turkish taxpayers, it will help a lot to move them from Turkey.

Just cut social help and assistance, don't allow Turkish business recruiting them, ban all trade activities. So it's end. Like in Jordan.

Walls are near useless. You can dig tunnels under the walls or just climb with ladders or ropes.

Can't say that it's not deserved. When people are bemoaning their situation and pointing the finger at refugees, the last thing the refugees should be doing is mocking said people in response. These people clearly didn't appreciate what they had and guess what, now it's gone.

The Turks suffer economically, not being able to afford basic commodities due to the economic situation, while the Syrians who support the government get more and more free privileges, and show their thanks to the Turkish people by eating bananas and laughing at them while living in their country as guests.

In Australia if anybody did this the Aussies would have easily deported them or kick them out to the nearest detention centre.

Muslim Ummah card should not be used as a way to push people over.

This banana bs outraged everybody. Honestly if this happened in the the 60s or 70s it would have been a pogrom or gunshots.

Seriously these people are lucky that the locals did not take their anger on them with a bat.

the entire banana issue is fully out of control , the turkish old man was naïve and the answers by the syrians was dumb . but at the end it was the government that made a disgraceful performance at a high level of ignorance and mishandling the situation .

Not really. Not even AKP can naturalize half a million Syrians without the opposition, media and public getting wind of this legal procedure.

However, the government knows that the overwhelming majority of AKP voters are firmly against this ridiculous idea. The number Mr. Çavuşoğlu is talking about is correct but in best case scenario Turkey simply threw out the same number of people that have entered the country recently.

The problem still isn't solved and the public expects solutions.
