The possible coverage area of the ASELSAN Early Warning Radar System (EIRS), whose production activities have been completed and is expected to be delivered to the Turkish Air Force this year, in the Aegean:

far enough?
Even the MESA radar of our E-7T aircraft didn't pick British F-35s in Cyprus. So don't have high hopes.

But that doesn't mean EIRS is bad, there are limitations of physics causes it. EIRS is performing very well compared to it's counterparts. For now it performed better than Thales GM400, some say its range is about 1000km now.

It seems like its placement is wrong. It should be placed on top of the Nif mountain (1400-1500m) just behind the İzmir.

Is it GaN based ?
Yes, it is.

A radar placed at the top of a 1500m mountain can pick up a target at 100m altitude up to 200km away.
