Image quality of CATS was satisfactory. Better resolution images will be obtained with the ASELFLIR-F500C. The weight problem seems to be decreasing day by day. I am mainly curious about DASS. Has the project evolved to the F500C or is it ongoing?

ASELSAN will deliver 100 km range artillery detection radar to the TSK by the end of 2020.

We will continue to play to the top in the world with joint operations with Karakulak ELINT systems. At the summit we started with Bayraktar TB-2, it will now be possible to perform much more precise and serial operations.

The reaction time of the TSK on land will now be measured in minutes.
This will be very useful both in point-based operations and conventional warfare on the front. In Operation Olive Branch and Peace Spring, the PKK used its mobility advantage by quickly leaving its location after firing us with its artillery systems.

This advantage will now be largely taken away from them. This series of capability also shows how important it is to retain dominance in the field in conventional armies.
Because tank destroyer STAs work with the logic of hit and run the missile. However, this concept evaporates that advantage. If you cannot destroy the guided systems with your own beyond sight before they are fired, you will be directly under fire!

Pretty sure this is the EO that was seen being tested on the TB2 here: https://defencehub.live/threads/aze...n-updates-discussion.1423/page-201#post-20198

Turkey Begins Work on Next Gen KORAL Electronic Warfare System

Turkey Begins Work on Next Gen KORAL Electronic Warfare System

KORAL Electronic Warfare System

Turkish defense contractor Aselsan has begun working on the next generation KORAL electronic warfare (EW) system.
In a press conference yesterday, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, revealed the development of the advanced KORAL system.
The country’s success against Syrian regime armor during its ‘Operation Spring Shield’ in February is largely attributed to the lethal combination of EW systems such as KORAL and Turkish REDET; and Bayraktar TB2 and Anka-S combat drones that can endure EW threats. The Turkish systems blinded the regime’s radars, along with paralyzing the communication / radar network of Assad who did not have a fiber optic communication network in the region. The Idlib operation had shown that tanks need the support of air defense systems and EW systems to be effective.

KORAL Electronic Warfare System
KORAL is a land-based transportable electronic warfare system developed to jam and deceive hostile radars of enemy nations. It was developed under the Land Based Stand-off Jammer System project which started in 2009.

The system supports the Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD) operations by building information dominance and providing fast response time in a challenging environment.

KORAL is composed of Electronic Support and Electronic Attack System each mounted on an 8×8 tactical truck. Operation Control Unit (OCU) is in compliance with NATO standards and also supports NBC (nuclear, biological, chemical) protection. The KORAL can search, intercept, analyse, classify, and locate the direction of multiple conventional and complex types of radar signals. It has the Ability to jam, deceive, and paralyse hostile radars. The system has an operating range of 200km.

Aselsan from Turkey unveils new generation of Koral Land-Based Radar Electronic Warfare System

KORAL Land-Based Radar Electronic Warfare System is designed and manufactured by the Turkish Defense Company Aselsan. The KORAL system is composed of two 8x8 military trucks, each carrying an element of the system. One is the Radar Electronic Support (ES System) and one multi Radar Electronic Attack (EA) system to cover the full spectrum.

KORAL System supports the Suppression of Enemy Air Defence (SEAD) operations by building information dominance and providing fast response time in a challenging environment. KORAL is composed of Electronic Support and Electronic Attack System each mounted on an eight by eight tactical truck.

The KORAL System is operated by two operators within the Operation Control Unit (OCU), one Electronic Support Operator for the detection, analysis and DF functions and, one EA Operator for jamming, deception, and source allocation functions. Additionally, the Supervisor within the OCU handles the operational coordination and communication with the other KORAL Systems and commands. The OCU incorporates three multifunctional consoles to achieve these roles.

With an effective range in excess of ninety miles (about 150 kilometers), KORAL reportedly could jam and deceive any land, sea, and airborne radar systems. The fast beam steering is generated via the phased array antenna system with a high output of power and multiple solid-state amplifiers. The system covers a wide frequency and spatial coverage with a high parameter measurement accuracy. The KORAL system can operate at temperatures between -30 °C and +50 °C and with a humidity rate of 95 %.

The design of the new generation of Koral radar is based on the previous version with more capabilities in terms of detection. The New Generation KORAL system opens the safe air corridor needed in the operational field by detecting and effectively mixing even the most effective and popular radar threats, and will break new ground with the support of friendly air elements to the user to perform their duties effectively and safely.

The Aselsan STR radar that is introduced lately has many similar functions to the Israeli Elta EL/M-2084 MMR radar (470 km for air surveillance/ 100 km for enemy weapon location detection), with some minor modifications it can also function as air surveillance radar.

İsraeli el-m2084 works on S band. İ don't know if weapon locating radar works on S. However we have great Kalkan X band air defence radars.

The radar is classified under the x-band (10 GHz) or S-band (3GHz) frequencies. The x-band, being of higher frequency is used for a sharper image and better resolution whereas the S-band is used especially when in rain or fog as well as for identification and tracking.

Anyway EIRS is the first step of Turkish High altitude long range air defense systems.

The UMR was not tested in Phase-1, because the UMR is the Naval version of the Early Warning Radar System EIRS project that is already being tested.
I didn't know the EIRS is going to serve as a basis for the UMR radar on the CAFRAD.
