Within the scope of the National Combat Aircraft Integrated RF System Development Project, both critical technology development and product requirements definition activities continued.

After the low and medium altitude air defense radars, it is aimed to complete the development work of the high-altitude long-range air defense radar system by 2021.

Efforts on localization of the critical components of the radars continued. In this context, prototype production stages were started in the projects carried out with AB Micro Nano, a subsidiary of ASELSAN. Components produced by AB Micro Nano are aimed to be used in AESA radars.

Sea tests were carried out for concept demonstration with the underwater acoustic Network Acoustica. Sea and air tests for Aselbuoy passive sonobuoy have been successfully completed.
The first phase of the Low Frequency Active Sonar System Development Project (System Requirements determination phase) has been completed, and the second phase (critical design phase) is under completion.

IFF Mod 5/s friendly enemy recognition system, developed for the F-16 Block 30TM model aircraft, has been integrated and flight tests have been successfully completed.

Aselsan: The reconnaissance and surveillance system ASELFLIRR400D development studies for helicopters are continuing.

It is likely this FLIR is being developed to integrate T629 and T129 Phase3 helicopters.

Promec, one of Aselsan's suppliers, has nationalized the Precision Guidance Unit used in night vision systems, thermal cameras, laser markers.

Excellent, so currently Aselsan have been successful in producing Microbolometer in;

384x288 @ 25µm pitch size

640x480 @ 17µm pitch size

expecting
800x600 @ 12µm pitch size - might even see a megapixel sensor

Smaller pixel pitch also allows for reduction in costs associated with larger sensors.

BAE SYSTEMS TWV640 12µm pitch size

The TWV640 is the first commercially available uncooled thermal camera core to use 12-micron pixels, enabling system integrators to reduce optic size by 50 percent and optic cost by 20 percent

Aselsan could effectively reduce cost and size of uncooled thermal weapons sights and seekers.

Land based Portable Active Protection System Radar Concept

• Based on experience from Akkor and Pulat APS
• Data Link Capability for Network Centric Counter Insurgency Operations, Mobile Command Centers etc.
• Can track multiple projectiles at once
• Can run on battery for a certain time, until portable generator can be delivered
• Warning system integrated with mobile siren or portable radios. Warning troops to take cover before impact.
• Allows for immediate response after incoming projectile is detected, cost effective loitering munition like STM Kargu in standby will be dispatched. To track and neutralize attackers.
• Can be integrated with systems within nearby bases like automatic mortars, artillery.

Also great physiological effect, thought of getting neutralized shortly after firing an projectile will greatly lower future infiltration attempts.

This is part of a bigger picture. Network-centric counter insurgency operations.
