I just finished watching, thank you. The Soviets had ideas well ahead of their time when it came to the design of aircraft. Just like the designs that inspired the Harrier and much later the F-35B. I also know well that there are stealth aircraft designs but they never go into production.

In this respect, we acquired one of these designs, which could not be put into production, from Ukraine and told British&Ukraine senior engineers, "You will base this on TFX design." It is quite possible that we have given the order.

I still don't understand why people on this forum are reacting so strongly to this, BTW.

A breif History

- At the meeting of the Defense Industry Executive Committee on 15 December 2010; It has been decided to start contract negotiations with TAI for the realization of the first basic principle design

-2013 An agreement was signed with Saab; Saab provided technological design assistance for Turkey's TF-X programme.

-2015 Among these 3 designs, twin engine design was picked

-2015 we signed a new agreement with BAE for helping the design of TFX

I have shared it before. It has some interesting inputs and pov.
To be honest with you, the title of the video is plain dumb, considering the history of the JSF. ASTOVL was a joint US-UK program to replace Harrier and such history is reflect in a way that the UK is the only tier 1 partner in JSF + is a country directly involved with F-35B propulsion design.

The Soviets(Yakovlev) didn't inspire anything about the harrier nor the F-35. They were western designs from the basis. F-35B designs could be traced back to the 60s, way before the Russians even thought about Yak-141.

Anyways, I think enough talk about that one post, let's get back to MMU.

I've got a question to Turkish members. Are there any computer models or mockups for the earlier T-X/F-X program from pre-2014? I've always searched for it but the earliest official models for the MMU program are those preliminary research models from the mid-2010s drawn in cooperation with SAAB.
First official concept models are these. Nothing was published pre-2014

Yes, this is the "preliminary research models from the mid-2010s drawn in cooperation with SAAB" that I mentioned above. But wow, I'm surprised that nothing came out from the T-X/F-X to the public, considering that the components of the program wouldn't even be confidential by now. It makes sense that the information is scarce, since the T-X/F-X wasn't even barely promoted throughout its existence, but not even a single leak about its design is something that I haven't expected.

We should open a thread where we can upload photos of our platforms with 4k or with more resolution. Those photos of TFX showing rivets in detail were superb. It would be a shame if such high quality photos got lost or wasted.

The title of this thread is

TF-X Fighter & Trainer Aircraft Projects

The content should only be about the above.

Next violation gets a warning.

Hopefully me voicing my concern over the current state of the thread wasn't one of those violations!

The aft section of the TF-X is very wide. Do we have any theories? A radar perhaps 😁
Does TFX has requirement to land on short runway?

I think 5 nations has actually worked on VTOL.

Germany, Usa, Ussr, Uk and France.

FIAT of Italy nearly made a Vtol plane with a rolls royce engine.

Currently no. TurAF's current needs were taken into account. I'm not sure if short runways were one of them.
If not then you don't have to put drag chute inside that tail.

It would be foolish to waste that volume with a parachute when we have potential miniaturization problems in electronic systems. I think ECM or Radar will be put in that segment.

it is definitely not a drag chute hub, as it is made from different pieces and has serrations both in the connection to the airframe and the nose

Can it be the exhaust nozzle of the auxiliary power unit? After all it is a jet engine as well. And it was being developed by TRMotor and Ivchenko Progress.

Here is the one of A380 at the very posterior of the plane’s tail.
