I don't remember which interview but it was said that they found out KAAN's current landing gear was not fit for landing, so guess they are fixing that

They most likely knew it all along. Some of the aircraft's components are either not fit for flight, or they haven't been tested enough. They'll get there eventually.

They have most likely installed that landing gear to test other aspects of the plane like taxying and they were not meant for landing.

MMU from her side. She is one of the largest birds in her class!

Has this largeness an effective on RCS?
Yes and no. The larger an object the larger the RCS but the special shape and paint is reducing the RCS, it's about not to reflect back the backscatter to the enemy radar but let the backscatter signal deflect to other directions so that it is not shown on the radar.

Take the US B-2 bomber, much larger but still stealth

Imagine a smaller plane with all same characteristics and paint, has it the same RCS or a smaller RCS?

Theoretically it should be a slightly smaller. RCS value is also strongly dependent on the distance cos deflection angle vs distance plays her part

I think at this point what we need to understand is that, TurAF nor the potential adversaries will evaluate KAAN's capability on its exact RCS value compare to its peers. (Like F-35 or F-22)

There are three level of war-fighting in any domain.

*Tactical
*operational
*strategic

The only 5th gen fighter to probably fight as pure tactical platform is F-22.

But now thanks to rapid advance in drone, AI and future technologies, the characters of areal warfare are changing rapidly.
in tomorrow’s war fighting domain, a group of 5th gen and 6th gen fighters are increasingly becoming a part of highly automated network-centric (almost) OPERATIONAL LEVEL capabilities rather than a stand-alone tactical systems.

Similarly, KAAN will be developed into a System of Systems and then she herself will be a critical part of a larger puzzle in TurAF joint strategy.

It is no-brainer that, TurAF has set every requirement for KAAN after Comprehensive study and analysis of its future need to successfully deliver/implement its grand strategy in Tomorrow’s dynamic battlefield.

So, in my opinion, if the requirements set by TurAF for KAAN are met/exceeded, (including RCS value) then we should not obsess ourselves too much with the individual characteristics of the aircraft.

The larger an object the larger the RCS
Not exactly. This is true when the object has a lot of radiative/reflective features, because they accumulate. But if it doesn't, increasing the size doesn't necessarily increase the RCS, it decreases the radar frequency with which it can be detected. This is why the largest stealth plane (B2) is also the stealthiest.

RCS is irrelevant imo, what's important at this point is this bird flying and start to test launch all the missiles developed to be used from fighter jets by Turkish defense industry.

It's really not irrelevant, if it wasn't we could have made much simpler airframe like hurjet and call it a day

RCS isn't going to change no matter how much you discus it whether it's as good as F-16, F35 or F22, doesn't matter. And I believe that 99% of the people here would prefer KAAN was flying now, and testing missiles against targets if it meant the airframe was like Hürjets.

Because the political and geopolitical implications would be gutwrenching for US and western allies. Instead we're here getting pissed over governments actions on foreign policy.

We need more than 1 of the National Combat Aircraft KAAN. Apart from our first prototype, the designs of our 2-3-4-5 aircraft are gradually reaching the stage of freezing and production.

Our work on the national engine continues.
